Responsibilities & Context:
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
Supervise daily activities of the assigned floor (wards, rooms, nursing stations)
Ensure efficient patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall discipline on the floor
2. Patient Care Coordination
Ensure quality patient care in coordination with doctors, nurses, and support staff
Monitor patient needs and address concerns or complaints promptly
Ensure timely delivery of services such as medication, diagnostics, and housekeeping
3. Staff Supervision & Leadership
Oversee nursing aides, ward boys, housekeeping, and support staff
Allocate duties and manage shift schedules
Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance
4. Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and healthcare regulations
Monitor infection control practices and safety standards
Handle emergency situations and escalate critical issues appropriately
5. Inventory & Resource Management
Monitor availability of medical supplies, linen, and equipment
Coordinate with stores and procurement for timely replenishment
Ensure proper usage and handling of hospital resources
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of patient movement and floor activities
Prepare daily reports on operations, incidents, and staff performance
Assist management in audits and inspections
7. Coordination & Communication
Act as a bridge between management, medical staff, and support teams
Coordinate with departments such as pharmacy, diagnostics, and billing
Facilitate smooth communication to avoid delays in patient care
