Responsibilities & Context:

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous medical care to critically ill patients in the ICU.

• Monitor and assess patients with spinal, trauma, post-operative, and orthopaedic complications.

• Manage ventilators, airway support, and life-support systems.

• Respond promptly to emergencies and critical changes in patient condition.

• Conduct clinical rounds and collaborate closely with consultants, surgeons, and ICU nurses.

• Ensure proper documentation, treatment planning, and follow-up.

• Maintain strict infection control and ICU safety protocols.

• Assist in pre-operative and post-operative stabilization of spine and orthopaedic patients.

Educational Requirements:

• MBBS from a recognized medical college.

• Valid BMDC registration is mandatory.

• Post-graduate training (FCPS Part-1, MD Part-1) preferred but not compulsory.

• ICU/CCU/critical care training will be given priority.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 1–5 years of experience as a Medical Officer in ICU department.

• Experience managing orthopaedic or spine surgery patients is an added advantage.

• Strong clinical knowledge in critical care and patient assessment.

• Ability to handle emergencies independently.

• Proficiency in ICU equipment handling (ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps).
