Skills Required: ship recycling

Additional Requirements:
  • Age 27 to 45 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the ship recycling industry.
  • 5-8 years.(Experience in Ship Breaking and Recycling Sector will be preferable)·
  • Mandatory Training Requirement: NEBOSH and all relevant trainingin aspect of HSE.
  • Ship Recycling HazMat Export Marine training course
  • Experience : Minimum 5 to 7 years practical experience in relevant department.
  • Good knowledge to perform according to ISO 9001, 14001,45001 & ISO 30000 in the ship recycling sector.
  • Up to date knowledge on environmental and social rules and regulations as applicable by the local regulatory authorities.
  • Knowledge in handling social conflicts


Responsibilities & Context:
  • Under standing company policies & Safety regulations.        

  • To prepare and revise SRP & SRFP.

  • To issue safe for entry certificate and safe for hot work certificate.

  • To plan and implement risk assessment , job hazard analysis review as required.

  • To liaise with different stakeholders on matters related to health, environment and Safety.

  • To ensure good practices followed on health ,environment and safety.

  • To identify and take necessary actions to reduce or eliminate the near misses incidents and accidents, unsafe activities and conditions during recycling operations.

  • To identify and inform the top management for any resource requirement related to health, environment and Safety.

  • To attend a management review meeting and Safety committee meeting.

  • To arrange necessary training to all employees, as and when required.

  • To maintain applicable records of the SRF as per records list including all updates & changes whenever required, to ensure Safety, product safety compliance activities.

  • To ensure that any activities of the SRF or contract entered into is in compliance with the SRFP and other relevant requirements.

  • To ensure that the SRF is well prepared and able to handle any emergency situation.

  • Ensure safe access and fire preventive measures during all stages of demolition.

  • To arrange mock drill as per EPRP.

  • To ensure and arrange proper identification , removal collection storage and disposal of hazardous and non hazardous waste generated during the recycling operations.

  • To assist and guide Health and Safety officer, Safety supervisors, Environment officer/Hazmat Expert and equipment operators (HSE) on the matters related to health safety and environment.

  • To avoid workers from the dangerous situations when they have reasonable justification to believe that there is an imminent and serious risk to their safety and health and to allow such concerns to be immediately communicated to management.

  • To report top management incase of abnormal situation occurred.

  • To ensure that good practices for health and safety are followed by employees including visitors involved in ship recycling process.

  • To ensure the due precautions to minimize the risk arising from articles or materials being left lying in any place from which they may fall workers or persons passing underneath.

  • ASSIST CEO to collect Ship’s documents plan, Master declaration as appropriate and directed.

  • Designate personnel for the up keeping of all safety equipment.

  • Member of SRP preparation team.

  • Coordinating HSE issues of sub contractors.

  • To participate in internal and external audit process.

  • To initiate and implement corrective and preventive actions derived from management review meeting and audits.

  • In charge of PPE issuance to workers.

  • To bring to the attention of top management regarding any hazards or risks to safety, health and or the environment which require direct intervation of the management.

  • Prepare and update all compliance related documents / registers whenever require.

  • Maintain all measuring equipment in SRF.

  • Update the safety record book.

  • In charge of yard inspection at predetermined frequency and attend detail resources for all non conformities as identified       

  • In charge of emergency coordination.

  • Accountable to top management.

  • Emergency Duties: Coordinator of Emergency , preparation of EPRP and check effectiveness by conducting drills and revise as required.

  • Pre planning with fire service and civil defense.
