Experience:
B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) or a relevant discipline.
15–20 years in industrial plant maintenance, preferably in the Paper/Pulp industry.
Minimum 5 years in a senior managerial role in Engineering/Maintenance.
Strong knowledge of paper machinery, industrial electrical systems, and plant utilities preferred.
Experience with boilers, power generation, automation, PLC, and VFD is an added advantage.
Job Purpose
Lead and manage all electro-mechanical, maintenance, and utility functions of the paper manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient operation with minimum downtime, optimum energy use, cost efficiency, and full safety/regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all electrical, mechanical, utility, and maintenance operations of the plant, including the Paper Machine, Stock Preparation, Pulping, and related production equipment.
Manage electrical systems (HT/LT panels, transformers, switchgear, MCC, PCC, VFD, PLC, motors) and utilities (boilers, steam systems, turbines, compressors, water treatment).
Develop and implement Preventive, Predictive, and Breakdown Maintenance programs to minimize downtime and production loss.
Lead annual shutdowns, overhauls, and plant turnaround activities.
Monitor equipment performance, energy consumption, and maintenance costs; drive energy-saving initiatives.
Review specifications and proposals for new machinery, expansion, and modernization projects.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Procurement, Finance, Safety, and HR for smooth operations.
Supervise contractors/vendors and ensure adequate spare parts inventory.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of major failures and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with electrical, boiler, fire, and occupational safety standards, including equipment inspection/certification.
Prepare and control the annual maintenance budget (CAPEX/OPEX).
Lead, train, and develop the maintenance team; report regularly to management.
Admin & Factory Operations:
Supervise day-to-day factory operations, manpower, shifts and discipline.
Ensure factory security, housekeeping, and administrative services.
Ensure compliance with company policy and statutory regulations.
Conduct regular inspections and correct operational/safety deficiencies.
