Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead and manage all facets of legal risks, defend proactively all legal issues, and ensure prompt and appropriate in-house legal services.
∎ Check all prepared documentations (e.g. Corporate Finance Agreement, Lease Finance Agreement, Factoring Agreement, Deed of Mortgage with IGPA, Legal Undertaking, Personal/Corporate Guarantee, Tripartite Agreement, Deed of Redemption/Partial Redemption, Deed of Revocation of Power of Attorney etc.) of all loan products.
∎ Conduct Title Search/Verification of property related documents e.g. Title deed, Mutation order, Deed of Power of Attorney, Mortgage permission etc. at the concerned govt. Offices.
∎ Provisional legal checking of all property related documents e.g. Title Deed(s), Bia Deed(s), Mutation order, Khatians etc. and send the report to the respective Branch/Business Channel
∎ Legal vetting on all kinds of charge documents (viz.-Demand Promissory Note, Letter of Continuation, Letter of Authority, Corporate Guarantee etc.) of various products from time to time.
∎ Expedite for providing required papers/documents to the Panel Lawyers as and when required by them
∎ Monitor cases, submission of statements relating to the new development about the legal claims in order to keep the authority informed and up-to-date.
∎ Review the statement of suits & cases filed by and against BD Finance for submission to the Board of Directors and Bangladesh Bank or any other regulating authority.
∎ Providing update to the Management and Board of Directors regarding suits/cases filed against defaulted borrower(s)
∎ Monitoring litigations/court case related matters and provide feedback to the Management time to time.
∎ Ensure proper support to Recovery Department and other Branches/departments in connection to Legal actions taken or to be taken against the defaulted borrower(s).
∎ Supervise of repossessing the leased assets from defaulted borrowers.
∎ Monitor legal claims of branches/departments and keep information up-to date
∎ Providing guidance on proper applications and interpretation of laws and regulations applicable to the Products.
∎ Advise on legal/compliance issues as required and provide support to the customers on material Compliance and Regulatory Risk issues and proactively monitor and mitigate risks.
∎ Ensure adequacy of controls to mitigate Risks on Legal & Compliance issues.
∎ Raise awareness of, and address Legal, Compliance and Regulatory risks and issues by providing specific training to Branch Sales Personnel on Legal and Compliance issues.
∎ Maintain close connection with external Legal Counsels/Panel Lawyers to ensure the organization is represented in a timely and effective manner in all legal matters and court cases
∎ Maintain effective liaison with different govt. authorities e.g. Sub-Registration Office, Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK), National Housing Authority (NHA) etc. for completion of assigned jobs
∎ Identify, escalate and mitigate departmental risk issues on continuous basis to keep operational risks at minimum and generate new ideas to improve and implement various processes re-engineering techniques
∎ Coach the team members for their continuous improvements; ensure required training and development programs through HRD and ensure retention of adequate efficient and effective human resources on board all the time
∎ Maintaining a good relationship and understanding with all internal customers and creating a dependable source for them by assisting in problem solving and keeping mutual trust and devotion.

∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Enrollment as an advocate on the role of the Bangladesh Bar Council and High Court Division/ Supreme Court Bar Association will be an added advantage.
∎ Age limit may be relaxed for deserving candidates.
∎ Excellent interpersonal, communication, team building and people management skills.
∎ Ability to handle complex situation.
∎ Good negotiation skill and communication skill in English and Bengali.
