Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor degree in any discipline
∎ No 3rd class/Division is allowed.
∎ Preferred Professional Certification: Qualified Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or ACA or FCA or FCMA
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
Compliance Audit, Internal Audit, Non-Life Insurance
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To develop audit plan, audit program, audit schedule based on risk assessment in line with standard audit practices and guideline and direction from Higher Authority and guide team to support in achieving audit activities
∎ To oversee company's internal audit functionalities.
∎ To plan, design and develop the operation process flow and engagement work program to ensure the audit scope and coverage are fully covered. To assist in the preparation of interview schedules, organize logistics, team working place requirements
∎ To conduct and guide team to complete audit fieldwork and finalize audit report for Higher Authority review and reviewing existing process of company for further improvement of controls and governance
∎ To ensure audit working papers of auditors and to ensure audit working files are complete, properly indexed and cross referenced ;
∎ To conduct ad-hoc audit assignments and reviews as per Higher Authority direction and management
∎ To maintain good corporate governance and provide risk analysis to management as proactive action.
∎ To lead a team of professional auditors and ensure effective departmental performance.
∎ Identify the scopes for development in financial operations and asset management.
∎ To review internal processes and operations, find out non-compliances from the internal controls and report accordingly.
∎ Prepare various periodical reports on management requirements and submit the same accordingly
∎ To develop and design an annual Risk Based Internal Audit Plan for Senior Management and Board's approval.
∎ Recommend appropriate level of controls to prevent excess, duplicate and wrong payments.
∎ Identify the areas of potential risks and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to minimize/ mitigate risks.
∎ To recommend controls to prevent and detect fraud and initiate fraud awareness or compliance programs to improve the organization's culture.
∎ To monitor engagement outcomes and conduct appropriate follow-up by the internal audit activity
∎ To report on overall effectiveness of Internal Control, Risk Management and governance to Senior Management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 32 years
∎ Working experience in non-life insurance sector
∎ Strong organizational skills, team building and leadership skills
∎ Sound knowledge on Internal Audit.
∎ Conversant with both the International and Bangladesh Standards on Auditing.
∎ Conversant on latest Audit policies/methods, Internal Control Systems, ERP, VAT & Tax Management
Salary:
∎ Negotiable

∎ Business : Eastland Insurance Company Limited (EICL), a first generation Non-life insurance company was incorporated on November 5, 1986 as a public limited company under the Companies Act 1913 (at present 1994) with the vision to be one of the Par excellence non-life insurance companies in Bangladesh. It obtained the Certificate of Registration for carrying on insurance business from the Chief Controller of Insurance on November 22, 1986. The company started its business with an authorized capital of Tk. 100 million and paid up capital of Tk. 30 million. Meanwhile, both authorized capital and paid up of the company have been enhanced to Tk. 1000 million and Tk. 838.80 million respectively. Eastland is an “A” category listed company both the stock exchanges.
Eastland has been offering a comprehensive range of insurance packages from its 27 branches throughout Bangladesh, which includes Fire, Marine, Hull, Motor, Industrial All Risk, Engineering, Aviation, Contractor`s All Risks (CAR), Overseas Mediclaim Scheme and Miscellaneous Risk. All departments and Branches of EICL are online and functioning smoothly with ERP software Computer Integrated Insurance System (CIIS).
EICL received "AA+ (Double A Plus)" Rating from CRISL based on its sound financial performance and claim paying ability. The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) awarded Eastland with the `Best Corporate Award` in the Non-life Insurance sector for four consecutive years and also awarded `Certificate of Merit` by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) for the Best presented Annual Report.
