Job Summary:
The Head of Business Development will be responsible for driving the company`s growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with key stakeholders, and creating strategic plans for expansion. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to align business development strategies with organizational goals, ensuring the financial sustainability and long-term growth of mPower.
Job Description:
Business Strategy & Growth:
Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with mPower’s mission, ensuring sustainable growth and monitor quarterly progress.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in local and international markets.
Lead the expansion of services into new sectors and geographies creating appropriate strategies.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement:
Establish partnerships with NGOs, INGOs, Governments, UN agencies, donors, and other development organizations to secure large-scale projects & products.
Work closely with clients and partners to understand their needs and co-create customized solutions.
Represent mPower at key industry forums and events, positioning the organization as a leader in technology-driven development.
Revenue Generation & Financial Oversight:
Drive the achievement of revenue targets by expanding the business portfolio.
Collaborate with the finance team to develop pricing strategies and ensure profitable projects.
Oversee the preparation of proposals and bids for new projects, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic goals.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Development team, ensuring their growth and alignment with organizational objectives.
Foster a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and achieve company-wide targets.
Market Analysis & Innovation:
Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities for growth.
Collaborate with the product and innovation teams to identify new technologies and solutions that can drive business expansion.
Continuously evaluate competitors, market trends, and customer feedback to adapt strategies for business success.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development and report on progress to senior leadership.
Prepare regular business reports outlining achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure all business development activities comply with relevant regulations, especially in international markets.
Proactively identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the sustainability of business ventures.
Communications:
Lead Knowledge material development (websites, white papers, newsletters, podcasts, videos) and dissemination for establishing the organization in sector domains as expert.
Provide strategic guidance to the communications team to be aligned with business strategy and market standards.
Supervise and guide the communications team through regular monitoring and track overall performance.
