∎ Self-motivated and energetic professional with a relevant Master’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
∎ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development/ fundraising/ resource mobilization/ grant management.
∎ Must excel in English writing, editing, budget development, and presentation/communication, with experience leading large-scale proposals and multi-million-dollar project budgets.
∎ Must have a concrete and successful track record of winning proposals.
∎ Exposure to the waste management sector, particularly in plastic recycling, is preferable.
∎ Exceptional candidates with outstanding credentials may have qualification and experience requirements relaxed.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Study and comprehend BPCL's structure, objectives, programs, and grant/investment needs.
∎ Research funding opportunities from government and non-government agencies, DFIs, and impact investors related to Municipal Waste Management, Plastic Waste Management, and Recycling.
∎ Identify grants and funding opportunities that align with BPCL’s mission and capabilities.
∎ Maintain a database of potential donors and impact investors, and monitor opportunities like EOIs, CNs, and RFPs.
∎ Conduct detailed analysis based on current trends and donor priorities to pursue sustainable fundraising opportunities.
∎ Craft compelling proposals tailored to donor priorities by understanding the psychology of donors and building long-term relationships.
∎ Ensure all grant proposals meet funder requirements and legal obligations.
∎ Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of business development processes, tools, information management systems, and staff technical skills.
∎ Oversee proposal writing, submission, and impact report preparation, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
∎ Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, funders, and stakeholders to secure support for projects.
∎ Work with the Business Development team to explore new funding opportunities and address inquiries related to proposals.
∎ Prepare and proofread documentation, reports, and concept papers, and collaborate with relevant agencies for annual or other reports.
∎ Experience in developing successful proposals and tender bids to major donors.
∎ Excellent writing skills with impeccable grammar and the ability to adapt writing style to meet grant requirements.
∎ Strong critical thinking skills for processing funding requirements, conducting research, and crafting effective proposals.
∎ Understanding of funding patterns, latest technology, and donor interests in the plastic recycling sector.
∎ Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-up.

∎ Bangladesh Petrochemical Company Limited (BPCL) is seeking to hire a Grant and Business Development Specialist for Plastic Waste Management & Recycling. BPCL has pioneered the concept of creating worth out of waste in Bangladesh being the first and only postconsumer food grade PET bottle to bottle recycling plant in the nation. BPCL was incorporated in 2011 and started its commercial operation in July 2016. Till date, BPCL has contributed to recycling over 2,200,000,000 (220 crore) used PET bottles, preventing them from getting dumped into the ground/river/drain, reducing 28,000 tons of Green House Gas emissions. BPCL’s bottle collection supply chain has provided an income to 35,000 waste pickers by procuring BDT 1 billion (100 crore) worth of discarded PET bottles.
∎ Key Responsibilities:
