Job Context:
∎ Community Development Centre (CODEC) is working in the coastal area of Bangladesh since 1985. Its core activities are the socio-economic development of coastal people which is operated through seven thematic areas as Agriculture, Fishery, Dairy and Horticulture; Education, Skills and Youth Development; Conflict Resolution; Climate Change and Disaster; Health and Nutrition; Social Entrepreneurship; Microfinance and Rohingya Education, Protection and Repatriation.
∎ Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application from potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing CODEC Nature conservation through livelihoods improvements Project funded by a Local Fund from USAID, located at Teknaf, Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh.
∎ CODEC is implementing the Nature conservation through livelihoods improvements (Nature and Life) - Teknaf, Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh under USAID Local Works Bangladesh Activities in the landscape area of Teknaf Wildlife Sanctuary area to restore a heavily degraded forest ecosystem through further strengthen Nishorgo Network a co-management platform with a vision to conserve forest protected areas and community well-being.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Act as a primary point of contact at field level execution of component 4 of the project including governance and capacity building related activities of the project, strengthening three CMC’s and their sub-units (including Peoples Forums, Village Conservation Forums and Community Patrol Groups etc.) in coordination with CODEC management, Forest Department local offices as well as with relevant stakeholders in this regard.
∎ Coordinate day-to-day field activities of project component 4, in association with other component managers of the project, ensure effective implementation of capacity building events, regular meetings etc. for successful implementation of natural resources governance with BFD local offices and CMOs/CBOs.
∎ Support the Site Coordinators and Site Facilitators to ensure all the project activities carry out according to work plan deliverables, following organizational procedures, and with quality.
∎ Facilitate capacity building of the CMCs, in terms of improving their book keeping and financial management system, development of technical and program teams, and IT facilities.
∎ Under guidance and support of DPD, ensure financial and administrative supports to field team for smooth and successful implementation of field activities within stipulated timeframe.
∎ Regular and routine visits at the project sites and CMOs / CBOs.
∎ Ensure and support monitoring the progress of field activities and ensure timely submission of technical reports to the PD, DPD, USAID as well as relevant authorities.
∎ Any other activities as assign by the supervisory authority.
