Job Overview:
The General Manager – Marketing (Woven) will lead the marketing, merchandising, and business development activities of the woven garments division. The position is responsible for onboarding new customers, developing new business opportunities, strengthening relationships with international buyers, achieving revenue and profitability targets and ensuring smooth execution of orders from product development through shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic marketing and business development plans for the woven garments division to achieve sales, revenue and profitability targets.
Identify and onboard new international buyers, brands and business partners while expanding the company’s customer portfolio.
Develop new business opportunities through market research, buyer mapping, networking, sourcing events, trade fairs and direct customer engagement.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with international buyers and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Lead buyer communication, price negotiation, costing, order confirmation and commercial discussions in line with company objectives.
Drive the development of new products, samples, collections and product categories based on buyer requirements and market trends.
Coordinate closely with merchandising, product development, design, production, quality, IE, sourcing, commercial and finance teams to ensure timely and smooth order execution.
Monitor the order pipeline, shipment status, delivery performance and customer commitments to ensure on-time shipment.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, customer requirements and pricing to identify growth opportunities and maintain competitiveness.
Develop and monitor annual and seasonal sales plans, forecasts, budgets and business targets for the woven division.
Ensure business is commercially viable by monitoring costing, pricing, margins, order volumes and overall profitability.
Lead and mentor the marketing and merchandising team, establish performance objectives and ensure effective team development.
Resolve buyer issues, commercial challenges, quality concerns and delivery-related matters in coordination with relevant departments.
Represent the company in buyer meetings, business negotiations, trade fairs, sourcing events and other industry platforms.
Prepare and present regular business performance reports, sales forecasts, customer analysis and market updates to top management.
Ensure compliance with company policies, buyer requirements, ethical standards and applicable industry standards.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Textile, Apparel Merchandising, or a relevant discipline.
MBA or equivalent professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Requirements:
Minimum 14 years of relevant experience in apparel/garments marketing, merchandising or business development, with significant experience in woven garments.
Proven experience in handling international buyers and developing new business.
Candidates with strong exposure to reputed global brands/buyers will be preferred.
