∎ At least 2 years’ experience in capacity development of state and non-state actors.
∎ Sound experience with GBV Protection issues.
∎ Sound knowledge and understanding of the local justice system (e.g., village court, arbitration, mediation, etc.).
∎ Understanding of the conflict dynamics in the camp and adjacent host communities.
∎ Ability to facilitate and communicate in the local Cox’s Bazar dialect/FDMN dialect.
∎ Willingness to travel and work in the camps in Teknaf and Ukhiya.
∎ Strong writing, speaking, and reporting skills in English.

∎ Proven ability in self-organization, to work under pressure and deliver on time.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Managing an area of responsibility that forms part of the programme objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior
∎ Assisting project/programme initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of target groups
∎ Advice supervisor on all task when implementing GIZ rules and regulation
∎ Advice supervisor in the field of project's planning, steering and monitoring
∎ Independently implement goals and requirements set by the line manager
∎ Make decisions which have a short-term effect within a limited project area/ unit
∎ Assist supervisor to identify day to day problem and suggest appropriate solution
∎ Maintaining effective coordination, implementation and follow-up of relevant programme activities in accordance with project goals at the field level.
∎ Ensuring coordination among implementing partners, consultants and expertise.
∎ Concept development and adaption to local context.
∎ Training content and manuals development focusing GBV protection and gender responsive conflict mediation approach.
∎ Provide capacity building training to the state and non-state actors focusing GBV.
∎ Provide training and mentoring to the local women leaders to act as a changemaker/social advocate to mitigate/end GBV.
∎ Provide training and mentoring to the local conflict mediation groups.
∎ Inclusive interventions: “making the voices of women, adolescents and FDMN heard”.
∎ Supporting the legal research and study activities/desk research related to the justice system in Bangladesh as required focusing GBV.
∎ Provide technical guidance to ensure quality of project’s GBV response in line with GBV Guiding Principle and GIZ Minimum Standards for Prevention and Response to Gender Based Violence.
∎ Ensure capacity development of the representatives of the local state and non-state actors in methods for preventing and dealing with gender-based violence in coordination with other outputs of the project.
∎ Assures due consideration of GIZ core project strategies (capacity development, gender and disability, do-no-harm, beneficiary participation) in project activities.
∎ Provides technical guidance and assistance to implementing partners, government entities and service providers.
∎ Contributes to knowledge management, documentation and reporting obligations.
∎ Develops appropriate tools, methodologies and capacity development measures.
∎ Implementation and supervision of project activities and support measures.
∎ Ensuring quality of the project implementation at the field level.
∎ Develops and implements a capacity building/training plan.
∎ Keeping project related necessary documents/reports and files updated.
∎ Supporting other outputs/components under the project.
∎ Facilitating interactions with key stakeholders (CiC, UNO, and UP), including high-level senior government officials.
∎ Organizing and facilitating events, dialogues, workshops, training and meetings at the camp, district and national level.
∎ Represents and coordinates activities in the Inter Sector Coordination Group’s (ISCG) Protection Cluster and related working groups (General Protection, Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Child Protection (CP) as required.
∎ Builds up a reliable cooperation structures in the entrusted field, involving key local state and non-state actors, service providers and representatives from host and FDMN communities.
∎ Support to the project’s security and risk management system through identification, communication and analysis of potential risks and security issues in the project region and related mitigation recommendations and procedures.
∎ Other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor to support program implementation, including for other output of the project.

∎ For the team of our “Socio-economic Support to Host and Displaced Communities in Cox’s Bazar District (SHADE)”, we seek applications for the position of “Gender and Equality Specialist”.

∎ A. Responsibilities
∎ The position holder is responsible for:
