Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Child protection team management and program implementation: a) Support to design a project implementation plan, formulate budgetary plan, ensure timely and quality project delivery. b) Support to conduct local and national level advocacy initiatives through coordination with key stakeholders. c) Provide coaching, mentoring and capacity building support to the Community Organizers. d) Represent the organization in the community, Government and private sectors. e) Ensure adherence to the Child Safeguarding Policy and reporting procedures.
∎ Strengthen Community based child protection: a) Responsible for strengthening sustainable child protection through community engagement and structures. b) Lead in the establishment and running of Community Based Child Protection Committee (CBCPC), CSO Network and Referral mechanism together with Community Organizer, by ensuring regular meeting and coordination. c) Organize and facilitate trainings, workshops and meetings with project stakeholders and community peoples. d) Strengthening coordination with relevant stakeholders and Government Officials.
∎ Supervision and management of child protection cases and relevant services: a) Supervise Community Organizer and other relevant actors on the identification, assessment, documentation, case planning, service provision and referral (to relevant services) and follow-up of at-risk children and families. b) Support to organize awareness raising activities to identified vulnerable children and youth. c) Support the development of appropriate child protection information materials. d) Oversee to ensure need-based support to the vulnerable children through referral. e) Share information on field-level successes and challenges with the supervisor. f) Ensure that major challenges are flagged early, and addressed in an appropriate way.
∎ External and internal coordination and representation: a) Support on and keep up-to-date a map of existing services to which children and families can be referred. B) Build collaborative relationships with CSOs and service providers at the field level and support Community Organizers to ensure effective referrals and collaboration. c) Ensure referral mechanisms (with other actors) are in place and cases are appropriately managed and followed up when referred. d) Ensure constant and transparent communication and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including community members, community leaders and families.
∎ 6: MEAL and Reporting: a) Provide timely and quality inputs to meet reporting requirements and timeline. Ensure case stories, good practices are captured with high quality photographs, documented and disseminated at project level and thematic program level. b) Support to prepare monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual reports. c) Provide timely and quality inputs on cross cutting issues (CCIs).
∎ Others: Be able and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations, when needed and any other task assigned by Supervisor and /or Senior Management of BTS.

∎ Breaking the Silence (BTS) is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 October 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, prevent violence against women, empowering children and women. The organization is going to implement a project titled ‘Speak up! Empowering CSOs to protect children and youth's freedom of expression by capitalizing on the opportunities and addressing the challenges of the digital space in Bangladesh’ at Dhaka and Satkhira district. The project will be implemented with the support of ‘Terre des Hommes Netherlands (TdH NL).’ BTS is going to recruit the ‘Project Officer’ for the mentioned project.

∎ Responsibilities :
∎ The Project Officers is responsible for Child Protection including supervising and supporting the quality implementation of activities related to Speak up project area. He or she is responsible for implementing all activities with CSOs, CBCPC members, Community influential, Child Welfare Board (CWB), Law Enforcing Agencies, District Legal Aid committee, Local Elected Bodies (LEBs), and other community people under the supervision of the respective line manager.

∎ Tenure of Services Contract:
∎ Three months’ probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on the performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till the project’s lifetime.
