Experience:

• At least 5 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

• Master of Social Science (MSS)

• Master’s Degree from Geography and Enviornment, Enviornmental science, Social Science and any relevant subjects that can add value to the job.

• At least 5 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience and training in Climate change, Ecosystem management, livelihood opportunities, Gender justice, survey, and analysis. Experience on community led gender just initiatives.

• Experience in project management support, supervise and field level implementation.

• Ability to work with different creed, culture, and ethnicity.

• Knowledge of gender, Feminist principle, Ecosystem and the livelihoods approaches.

• Additional Requirements

• Able to work under pressure and willing to frequent travel to Field area at Chakaria & Moheshkhali Upazila, Cox’s Bazar District¬.

• Knowledge in community development, ability to work under timeline, facilitating participatory training, conducting the workshop, brainstorming sessions, focus group discussions, seminars, meetings, strong interpersonal skills, team-building capacity, problem-solving skills.

• Good writing and speaking skills in English and Bangla.

• Must have computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

• At least two (2) years experience to drive Motorcycle and have valid motorcycle driving license will preferable to selection process.

Breaking the Silence is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 October 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, prevent violence against women, empowering children,youth and women, promoting climate justice. The organization is implementing a project named ‘Blue Economy and Inclusive Development for Climate Justice with the support of ‘OXFAM in Bangladesh’. BTS is going to recruit the ‘Project Officer’ for the mentioned project and the desk will be at Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar.

Job Description /

Responsibilities :

• Support project manager in all activities for achieving project’s objectives.

• Take action and support to field officer day to day field level project implementation activities.

• Provide support and ensure field level data collection on demand basis.

• Supervise and conduct community level training, workshop, meeting on feminist climate movement building and other relevant activities.

• Communicate to stakeholders at the local level from a justice and equity approach in conducting awareness-raising actions.

• Support in developing and sustaining partnerships with different stakeholders including youth, activists, scientists, civil society organizations, business sectors and the government of Bangladesh, especially at the grassroots.

• Promoting CBO especially women and youth leadership for climate justice and natural resource rights.

• Prepare event base report and support in progress reporting for projects using information from various sources.

• Ensuring safeguarding and ensure necessary support for inclusive project management.

• Supporting knowledge development on blue economy and inclusive development.

• Support all the other project management activities as relevant.

• Others: Be able frequently field visit, ride moteocycle and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations, when needed and any other task assigned by supervisor and /or Senior Management of BTS.

Employment Status: Full-time

Tenure of Services Contract: 3 (Three) months probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on the performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till the project’s life time.

Chakaria Upazila, Cox’s Bazar.

Working Area:

Chakaria & Moheshkhali Upazila, Cox’s Bazar District¬.

• Gross: Taka 61,500/ (Sixty One thousand Five Hundred only) Per Month

• 2 days weekend

• Bonus (One month equivalent salary)

• 5% salary deduction from Basic salary for depositing BTS Staff welfare fund.

• Office time, Annual Leave, Increment & other facilities will be applicable as per ‘Recruitment and Human Resource Management Policy’ of Breaking the Silence.
