Experience:
Bachelor’s in English from any UGC approved reputed university or institute
Strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders while working in sensitive and diverse environments.
Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, negotiation, coordination, and networking skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Sound knowledge of the National Curriculum, English language teaching methodologies, and creating engaging, learner-centered lessons.

The Project Officer (English Language Coach) is responsible for creating an engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environment to develop English language skills among Rohingya children in Bhasan Char. The role ensures effective teaching of reading, writing, listening, and speaking through diverse and interactive methods, aligned with the Myanmar curriculum and students’ proficiency levels. The position emphasizes continuous assessment, individualized support, and integration of innovative teaching practices, while fostering strong collaboration with colleagues, parents, and the community. A key part of the role is to uphold BRAC’s safeguarding standards, ensuring the safety, dignity, and inclusion of all programme participants.
The Project Officer (English Language Coach) will create a supportive English learning environment, teach reading, writing, and speaking, track progress, and provide feedback to Rohingya teachers and learners.
Capacity Develop and implement a Myanmar curriculum to the needs and proficiency levels of Rohingya Teachers and Learners.
Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive English lessons that promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills development (Rohingya Teachers and Learners)
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and materials to engage students and accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to participate
Assess student learning progress through regular evaluations, assignments, quizzes, and tests, and provide timely and constructive feedback
Incorporate language immersion activities, such as conversations, role-plays, and language games, to enhance language acquisition and fluency
Integrate English language instruction across various subject areas and activities to reinforce learning and promote interdisciplinary connections
Develop and administer language proficiency assessments to monitor student achievement and identify areas for improvement
Collaborate with other (Implementing partners in Bhasan Char) teachers and staff to align English language instruction with overall educational goals and objectives
Provide individualized support and teaching to students who require additional support in learning English language skills
Stay updated on current trends, best practices, and research in English language teaching and learning, and integrate innovative approaches into teaching practices
Foster a positive relationship with students, parents, guardians, and caregivers, and communicate regularly regarding students' progress and achievements in English language learning
Safeguarding:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
