• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing/Post Basic BSc is completed with vailed BNMC registration.

• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience,

• Preferably in emergency, OPD, or acute care.

• Essential : English and Bangla Language

• Desirable : Chittagongian Dialect.

• Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)



Responsibilities & Context:

• The MSF Triage Nurse is accountable for ensuring patient safety and quality of care through early iden-tification, prioritization, and timely referral of patients according to MSF protocols.

• The role requires rapid clinical assessment and sound decision making, including initiating first line emergency care and promptly escalating critical cases.

• The Triage Nurse supports efficient patient flow, particularly during peak periods or emergencies, while ensuring strict adherence to MSF protocols, SOPs, and IPC standards.

• Accurate documentation, reporting, and effective handovers are essential responsibilities.

• Strong teamwork and communication are expected, including collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and support to junior staff.

• The role also involves continuous improvement and emergency preparedness, as well as upholding professional, ethical, and culturally sensitive conduct in line with MSF values.

• Conduct systematic triage assessments using MSF approved triage tools and protocols.

• Rapidly identify emergency, priority, and non urgent cases and ensure timely referral and transfer of patients to appropriate departments, ensure accurate and timely patient documentation.

• Ensure patient handover using clear professional communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff to improve patient outcomes

• Initiate life saving first line interventions (e.g. airway support, hemorrhage control within scope of practice.

• Monitor waiting patients and re triage when clinical conditions change.

• Maintain patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.

• Manage and optimize patient flow in collaboration with clinical and support teams.

• Coordinate closely with OPD, Emergency, Maternity, Inpatient, and Referral services.

• Communicate clearly with patients and caretakers regarding waiting times and care pathways.

• Support surge capacity during mass casualty incidents, outbreaks, or peak periods.

• Accurately document triage findings, clinical observations, and actions taken.

• Ensure proper use of triage registers and register all the green case including findings.

• Report critical cases and incidents to the Nurse Supervisor, Nurse Manager or Medical Activity Manager.

• Ensure adherence to MSF clinical guidelines, SOPs, and infection prevention and control (IPC) standards.

• Participate in audits, morbidity/mortality reviews, and quality improvement activities.

• Support on the job training and mentoring of nursing staff and health assistants on triage principles. Support and mentoring the other team working in Triage area, like health assistant, Hygiene agent, HP team.

• Ensure the nutritional assessments are done accruately and cross-checked if needed.

• Ensure proper care and minor maintance of bio-medical devices according to standard MSF protocols following regular checklist and report NTS immediately if anything damaged or need to be replaced.

• Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and care planning sessions.

• Maintain supportive working relationship by stepping in to assist colleagues in other departments when they are understaffed or overwhelmed and offering assistance in non-technical tasks of other profiles like health assistant, nutrition assistants, registrar, hygiene agents etc. when they are unavailable due to breaks, meetings, or emergencies.

• Stay updated on advancements in nursing practices and medical technology by self-learning and attending training sessions, workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.

• Perform as Nurse in another wards or ER and support in referral if needed.



Job Other Benifits:

    This is Permanent Position. Salary according to level Six (Level 6) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 85500 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.

    There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
