∎ Breaking the Silence (BTS) is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 October 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, and prevent violence against women, empowering children and women. The organization is implementing a project named ‘Strengthen Children of RMG worker’s Protection and Education rights (SCOPE)’ at Mirpur under Dhaka North City Corporation and Savar Upazilla, Dhaka District. The project will be implemented by BTS with the support of ‘Save the Children’ and financed by MANGO. BTS is going to recruit the ‘Officer, Education and Protection’ for the mentioned project.

∎ Responsibilities :
∎ Officer- Education and Protection will be responsible for supervision and implementation of education and protection activities of SCOPE project. For bringing positive and lasting change in the lives of children of RMG worker, the officer will ensure quality implementation of Daycare activities, Remedial activities, Parenting sessions, Life skill session and other need-based education and protection related activities. This role includes providing supervisory support to daycare staff and effective operation of above-mentioned facilities, hands on support, keep connected with the beneficiary schools under the guidance of project coordinator. Maintain effective collaboration with case workers, community mobilizers to ensure high standards of each activity.
∎ Planning and Implementation: a) Oversee the daycare center at regular basis and provide need-based support for quality implementation of daycare center in the collaboration with community mobilizer. b) Ensure availability of teaching learning, play, recreational and hygiene materials at the daycare centers. c) Regular track children age-appropriate development using GMP card and CREDI and IDELA tools at daycare centers. d) Support quality facilitation of PDEP and monthly parenting sessions at daycare centers. e) Support Community mobilizer in quality implementation of life skill session and Remedial session at community and school level. f) Address security related issues in consultation with project coordinator regarding daycare centers. g) Capacity development of daycare staff, project staff on Daycare operation and management, ECCD activities, Parenting, Reading for Children (RfC), Life skills for Success, Child rights, protection and safeguarding. h) Engaged schoolteachers to ensure quality implementation of Remedial support according to plan. i) Maintain liaison with the school authorities, teachers, upazila secondary and primary education offices for smooth implementation of project activities. j) Ensure timely procurement of need-based materials. k) Work jointly with STEM coordinator in quality implementation of STEM activities. l) Support community mobilizer in organizing in and outdoor game competitions for 10 to 18 years old girls at community level. m) Support community mobilizer and child space in-charge to operationalize child space activities. n) Organize and participate in different training, meeting and workshops. o) Strictly follow the organization safeguarding, child protection and anti- harassment rules. Communicate with SCI representative for need-based technical support.
∎ MEAL and Reporting: a) Support the MEAL Officer to develop and implement appropriate monitoring, evaluation and learning systems for child protection interventions b) Regular home visit to observe household level practices of parents and provide need-based support. c) Maintain and ensure proper documentation at daycare centers d) Support in functioning of feedback response mechanism (FRM) d) Prepare and support in developing monthly report, field visit report, quality benchmark report and other need-based report.
∎ Data management and data protection principles: a) Ensure that files, registers and computer databases are used in an appropriate and correct manner and ensure Information Sharing and Data Protection Protocol
∎ Others: Be able and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations, when needed and any other task assigned by Supervisor or Senior Management of BTS.
∎ Tenure of Services Contract:
∎ 3 (Three) months’ probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on the performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till the project’s lifetime.
