Responsibilities & Context:

1. Production Planning & Execution

  • Ensure smooth execution of all production activities from cutting to final packing.

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly production targets in line with company business goals.

  • Monitor daily production status and ensure achievement of shipment schedules.

  • Ensure optimum line loading and balancing based on capacity and style complexity.

  • Coordinate with Planning and Merchandising teams to minimize production gaps and idle time.

  • Take immediate corrective actions for any production delay or bottleneck.

  • Ensure efficient utilization of machines, manpower, and factory resources.


2. Productivity & Efficiency Management

  • Drive factory efficiency improvement initiatives across all departments.

  • Monitor hourly, daily, and monthly production efficiency.

  • Analyze production losses, DHU, rejection, alteration, and rework trends.

  • Implement lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement systems.

  • Ensure achievement of targeted SMV, productivity, and cost efficiency.

  • Reduce overtime dependency through proper planning and line management.

  • Lead Kaizen, 5S, visual management, and waste reduction activities.


3. Quality Assurance & Customer Satisfaction

  • Ensure right-first-time production and minimize defects.

  • Work closely with QA and Technical teams to achieve buyer quality standards.

  • Monitor inline, end-line, and final audit performance.

  • Ensure CAP (Corrective Action Plan) implementation against quality failures.

  • Maintain customer compliance and product quality requirements for all buyers.

  • Support successful buyer audits and technical evaluations.


4. Shipment & Delivery Management

  • Ensure all orders are shipped on time as per approved T&A calendar.

  • Closely monitor critical styles and high-priority shipment plans.

  • Coordinate with Commercial, Store, and Merchandising for smooth shipment execution.

  • Take preventive action against shipment delays, air shipments, and claim risks.


5. Manpower & Leadership Management

  • Lead and manage all production-related departments including:

    • Cutting

    • Sewing

    • Finishing

    • Packing

    • IE

    • Production Planning

  • Develop second-line leadership and succession planning.

  • Conduct regular meetings with departmental heads and line managers.

  • Ensure discipline, accountability, and performance culture within production teams.

  • Evaluate departmental KPIs and team performance regularly.

  • Identify training needs and improve operator skill development programs.


6. Cost Control & Operational Excellence

  • Control manufacturing costs through efficient resource utilization.

  • Reduce wastage in fabric, trims, utilities, and consumables.

  • Monitor cost variance against budget and take corrective action.

  • Support ERP-based real-time production and reporting systems.

  • Ensure no unauthorized manual production data entry.

  • Improve machine utilization and reduce downtime.


7. Compliance, Safety & Sustainability

  • Ensure full compliance with buyer, social, environmental, and safety standards.

  • Maintain workplace safety and good housekeeping standards.

  • Coordinate with Compliance and EHS teams to prevent accidents and incidents.

  • Ensure all production floors follow fire safety and evacuation procedures.

  • Support sustainability initiatives including:

    • Energy saving

    • Waste reduction

    • Chemical management

    • Water conservation

    • Lean and green manufacturing practices


8. Coordination & Reporting

  • Maintain strong coordination with:

    • Merchandising

    • Planning

    • Commercial

    • Supply Chain

    • Maintenance

    • HR & Admin

    • Compliance

    • Finance

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to management.

  • Present production performance, challenges, and action plans during management meetings.

  • Support management in strategic production expansion and capacity planning.
