Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ As a GBV Assistant, you will be responsible for overseeing community-based activities implemented in collaboration with UNSW and their educational partner in camps to implement commitments made under Global Compact of Refugee (GCR) project. She will be responsible to led project activities to empower women and girls groups in camp to run independent functions of each group.
∎ Duty Station: Teknaf, Bangladesh (with frequent travel to camp/field offices)
∎ Report To: GBV Officer
∎ Expected Start Date: At Earliest
∎ Contract length: Up to 31st December, 2023.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the guidance of the GBV Officer, the GBV Assistants will be responsible for-
∎ Collect data in the field to analysis the needs and priorities of women to eliminate violence and also ensure women participation, empowerment and decision making in the camp government structure.
∎ The capacity development of Women Support Network Groups:
∎ Capacity building in GBV, para-legal knowledge and arbitration,
∎ Mobilization of other women and girls to expand the network
∎ Facilitate coordination/network meetings bringing together all women
∎ Community awareness raising sessions
∎ Enhance access and availability of services for women and girls to support
∎ Case management including Safe reporting mechanisms supported by women
∎ Access to justice - especially engaging Madjis
∎ Women-to-women support to survivors of GBV
∎ Safe feedback and reporting mechanisms
∎ Building advocacy platforms for women to engage with service providers and local authorities
∎ Support women's participation in leadership
∎ Support women and girls' identification and sharing of gaps in service delivery
∎ Support women and girls to hold meetings with community leaders
∎ Collaboration with institutional partners to implement joint actions to mitigate risk of GBV. The tools and materials need to review so that it adherence to Cox's Bazar Context.
∎ Strengthen Capacity of Institutional Partners to conduct bi-weekly and monthly activities to enhance operational culture of different institution to adapt and bring organizational change to eliminate violence against women.
∎ Driven and support community-led initiative (eg; women support network) for ownership and sustainability and participate in M&E to continue to develop tools to support women empowerment.
∎ Support community-led groups (eg; women support network) to plan and implement their activities.
∎ Organize weekly meeting with community-led groups (eg; women support network).
∎ Supervision of community based volunteers for proper function of research team
∎ Arrange awareness raising campaign and event activities as needed.
∎ Report to GBV manager weekly, bi-weekly and monthly on community based protection
∎ Contextualize different modules and other IEC materials intended to use in camp setting
∎ Maintain good coordination/ collaboration with other RI staffs, partner and other stakeholder.
∎ Ensure recognized international best practices and Relief International policies are applied in the work with women, girls and vulnerable persons.
∎ Ensure proper resources are available to the team by raising procurement request, stock release request etc to support activities in field.
∎ Support MEAL process so that all staffs understand the tool and provide timely delivery in the tool.
∎ Any other responsibilities requested by supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Experience working with NGO in Cox's bazar is preferable.
∎ Demonstrate knowledge of community-led mechanism
∎ Experience in community mobilization in refugee camps
∎ Demonstrate faith and belief activism, good social changes, holistic engagement and community-led mechanism for ownership and sustainability
∎ Experience and skill work with community member
∎ Demonstrate facilitation skills
∎ Good communication skill
∎ Good knowledge of local context, strongly preferred
∎ Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and support unexpected task.

∎ Language Skills:
∎ Excellent communication skill in English and Bengali.
∎ Good command in Rohingya or Chittagonian, an asset.
Salary:
∎ As per RI National Pay Scale Policy in Bangladesh

∎ Two festival bonuses in a year equivalent to one Gross salary.
∎ Severance (8.33% of the monthly Gross salary) goes with the monthly release of the salary.
