Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Under the management of the Director of Financial institutions, identify innovative financial products/services, implement strategies to deliver financial products/services and expand growth of financing into Bangladesh’s agricultural sector
∎ Proactively seek opportunities to form and cultivate partnerships with local financial institutions and help structure smart incentives to increase financing to targeted geographies and demographics
∎ Coordinate technical programming to increase access to tailored financial products
∎ Form and cultivate partnerships with financial institutions and structure smart incentives to increase financing to targeted geographies and demographics
∎ Implement technical assistance efforts with finance providers (banks and non-bank intermediaries) to enhance their products and services
∎ Contribute to work planning and monitoring the budget tied to FI activities in collaboration with the Director of FIs and team
∎ Attend and substantively contribute to meetings with public and private sector actors including the Government of Bangladesh, non-governmental organizations, business associations, among others
∎ Supervise implementing partners, subcontractors, and grantees as they undertake tasks relating to expanding and supporting financial institutions
∎ Participating in and/or preparing Activity-related reports, presentations, and white papers
∎ Any other tasks required by the Director of FIs and Chief of Party (COP)
∎ Strong knowledge of the financial sector in Bangladesh, key stakeholders, and existing products and services
∎ At least five (5) years of work experience with a relevant organizations, preferably large MFIs
∎ Experienced in forming collaborative relationships with consortium partners, institutions, governmental and intergovernmental representatives, subcontractors, consultants, and grantees
∎ Established networks and working relationships within the Bangladeshi financial sector
∎ Proven track record working with finance providers to enhance their products and services
∎ High business acumen, understanding of business drivers and financing needs
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage high-level relationships
∎ Experience in gender equality and women’s empowerment preferred
∎ Experience with other USAID projects, especially in access to finance, preferred
∎ Written and verbal communication skills in English

∎ Project Overview: The Feed the Future Bangladesh Inclusive Access to Finance Activity (IAF) is a $34 million, USAID-supported project that will unlock finance for small businesses and farmers, make agricultural supply chains more inclusive and sustainable, and improve inclusivity in the financial sector in Bangladesh. To accomplish this, IAF will engage strategic partners to deploy innovative solutions to address constraints in agriculture value chains and agriculture financing; deploy incentives and capacity building to financial institutions to expand appropriate and inclusive lending to or investment in agriculture; and engage the private sector to advocate for systemic improvements and scale social impact. From 2024 to 2029, The Bangladesh Inclusive Access to Finance Activity will unlock $448 million in finance, driving sustainable agricultural lending and promoting inclusive growth. By improving access to finance for farmers and MSMEs, and the policy environment in the financial sector, IAF with increase farmer revenue, create jobs, and contribute to Bangladesh’s economic growth in an inclusive and environmentally friendly manner.
∎ The Financial Institutions Manager will be responsible for implementing partnerships with Financial Institutions (including commercial banks, MFIs and non-banking financial institutions) to develop, deliver and scale innovative inclusive credit practices, approaches and products that increase access to finance in targeted areas and for marginalized groups.
∎ Role and Responsibilities:
