Educational Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Regular updates, periodical reviews, and maintenance books of accounts.
∎ Make timely payments to vendors; analyze and solve problems of all supplier’s bills and other payments in a timely and accurately comply with all JCF and donor policies and Govt. rules.
∎ Preparing monthly financial reports.
∎ Assist in the statutory audit and audit of financial reports to donors.
∎ Ensure transactions are entered into GL (tally accounting software) properly and accurately.
∎ Ensure that all payment requests submitted to finance are organized and reviewed in a timely manner; ensure cashbook balances are confirmed before making the payment.
∎ Ensure all the payment requests are fully in compliance with control procedures, policy, legal, and other documentation requirements, and give evidence of this check before forwarding for approval.
∎ Reimburse petty cash float on the last working day of each month to make sure petty cash is in the cash box on the first working day of the next month.
∎ Keep office petty cash and maintain petty cash float including making petty cash payments correctly.
∎ Ensure complete documentation is available for all bank accounts including signatory lists, original bank opening documents, full details on banking terms and conditions, and locations of all branches.
∎ Proactively keep signatory information up to date, arranging relevant documents and collecting signatures where staff leaves or joins the organization. Take the initiative to ensure continued banking operations are available at all times.
∎ Reviewing and monitoring the use of banking facilities and identifying recommendations for any improvements which can ensure efficient banking services for the organization.
∎ Follow internal control and financial procedures.
∎ Assist procurement as per the organizational policies.
∎ Monitor periodic financial reports from the implementing organizations.
∎ Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets, including assets purchased with organizational funds assuring all are in accordance with procurement policies and laws of the land.
∎ Take care of compliance with the Income Tax Act, Rules of NGOAB, and other laws of the land.
∎ Promotes proactive and effective communication among workmates and clients; communicates concepts, information, and arguments efficiently in personal and group contexts and across all organizational levels.
∎ Proactively engaged in any assigned jobs by the line manager/department.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Minimum 5-7 years of professional field experience related to the above duties and responsibilities.
∎ Accountant or Assistant Accountant in relevant sector preferably in a larger organization/ CSO/commercial environment.
∎ Skills in general accounting procedures- Accounts, Finance, Audit, Tax (VAT/ Income Tax).
∎ Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Knowledge.
∎ Experienced in handling donor-funded development projects.
∎ Skill to track program budget and expenditure.
∎ Reporting and quantitative analytical ability and fluency in English.
∎ Professional Computer literacy in accounting packages. Should have competency in computer-based accounting systems- tally accounting software & other database programs.
∎ Proven ability to work in an intercultural environment and good interpersonal & communication skills.
∎ Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
∎ Work independently with minimal supervision within deadlines.
∎ Work as part of a team and must ensure effective team alignment and coordination between operational and support functions to ensure overall performance.
∎ Willingness to work beyond general business hours under extreme pressure.
∎ Willingness to pay frequent visits to the fields.
∎ Respect for gender equity and recognize gender mainstreaming.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 55,385 per month, Consolidated and other admissible benefits as per organizational policy as well as the project.
