job responsibilities of a fashion designer:

1. Trend Analysis: Researching current fashion trends and predicting future styles by studying runway shows, street style, and consumer behavior.

2. Concept Development: Creating "mood boards" and color palettes that serve as the visual inspiration for a new seasonal collection.

3. Sketching: Drawing initial design ideas by hand or using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software like Adobe Illustrator.

4. Fabric Selection: Sourcing and selecting appropriate textiles, trims, and colors that align with the design vision and budget.

5. Technical Pack Creation: Developing "Tech Packs" that include detailed measurements, stitching instructions, and material specs for manufacturers.

6. Prototyping: Overseeing the creation of initial samples (muslins or toiles) to test how a garment fits and drapes on a mannequin.

7. Pattern Making Coordination: Working closely with pattern makers to translate 2D sketches into 3D garment pieces.

8. Fitting and Refinement: Conducting fitting sessions with models to adjust the cut, comfort, and aesthetic of the garment before mass production.

9. Production Liaison: Communicating with factories and suppliers to ensure the final product meets quality standards and deadlines.

10. Portfolio Presentation: Presenting final collections to creative directors, buyers, or clients during seasonal meetings or fashion shows.
