Responsibilities & Context:
We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Desk Editor to join our digital news platform. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled bilingual professional fluent in both English and Bangla, possessing a sharp eye for breaking news, structural editing, and fact-checking. In this role, you will not only write and edit high-quality content across both languages but also actively leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to optimize workflows, generate data-driven insights, scale content production, and maintain high editorial standards in a fast-paced newsroom.
Key Responsibilities
Bilingual Content Editing & Writing: Write, translate, rewrite, and sub-edit breaking news stories, features, and opinion pieces accurately in both English and Bangla.
AI Workflow Integration: Utilize generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for drafting assistance, headline optimization, proofreading, summarizing long-form reports, and generating content ideas while ensuring strict editorial oversight.
Fact-Checking & Quality Control: Verify facts, cross-check sources, and ensure all AI-assisted content is fully vetted against hallucinations, maintaining absolute journalistic integrity, objectivity, and ethical compliance.
Desk Management & Curation: Monitor national and international news wires, social media, and primary sources to curate, prioritize, and publish timely stories on the live feed.
SEO & Digital Optimization: Apply SEO best practices to all articles, crafts compelling and clickable headlines, and utilize AI tools to research high-performing keywords.
Multimedia Collaboration: Work closely with the graphics, video, and social media teams to adapt written stories into engaging formats for various digital channels.
