Responsibilities & Context: Job Purpose:
To plan, monitor, and improve cutting efficiency, manpower utilization, and operational methods in the cutting department. Ensure optimal productivity, minimum fabric wastage, and smooth coordination between production and planning teams in a knit composite environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning & Control
- Prepare daily and weekly cutting plans based on production schedules and order priorities.
- Ensure proper line feeding to sewing sections as per the production plan.
- Monitor daily cutting output against targets and take corrective actions when necessary.
2. Method Study & Work Improvement
- Analyze cutting operations and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Study and improve workflow, layout, and material handling systems in the cutting room.
- Identify bottlenecks and introduce process improvements to reduce idle time and increase efficiency.
3. Manpower Management
- Plan and allocate manpower effectively across cutting tables, spreading, and layering sections.
- Monitor operator performance and ensure skill development through on-the-job training.
- Support HR team in manpower budgeting and productivity analysis.
4. Fabric & Resource Utilization
- Work closely with CAD and marker-making teams to optimize fabric consumption and minimize wastage.
- Ensure proper use of cutting tools, machines, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of fabric utilization, lay chart, and wastage percentages.
5. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to quality standards in fabric cutting, marking, and bundling.
- Implement safety measures and maintain a clean, organized cutting floor.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with factory rules and buyer requirements.
6. Coordination & Reporting
- Liaise with Planning, CAD, Sewing, and Finishing departments for smooth workflow.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly efficiency and production reports.
- Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, fabric wastage, and output.
