Job Context:
∎ KMC is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and hard-working Environmental Specialist with the below experience in Bangladesh.
∎ Job Location-Dhaka with frequent field visits in the coastal area

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Specialist should have a minimum Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering /or Water Resource Engineering/Geography with special training in carrying out ESMF, EIA, and preparation of EMP. The Specialist should have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience with at least seven years of working experience in similar assignments.
∎ The Environmental Specialist major responsibilities shall include but not necessarily be limited to the following;
∎ Assess the baseline environmental condition
∎ Assess the potential impacts of the project activity on the surrounding environment
∎ Prepare an ESMF, EIA, and EMP for each package of works under the project.
∎ Assist in the preparation of different reports as required by the team leader.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 35 to 50 years
∎ At least ten years of proven experience in ESMF, EIA, Drone Survey
∎ Capable to work of following World Bank's Environmental and Social Standards (ISS)
∎ Experience working in World Bank/ADB/JICA funded development projects
∎ Excellent writing and oral skills in English and Bangla.
∎ Must have the capability to write reports.
∎ Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
∎ Know land acquisition law of Bangladesh.
∎ Must have good exposure to computer and MS Office programs.
∎ Solution driver, dynamic, self-motivated, and the ability to work under pressure and be willing to visit the field frequently.
∎ Specific Abilities and Skills:
∎ Excellent proven report writing skills on Environmental issues
∎ Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel and internet)
∎ Strong interpersonal communicative skills, experience in team leadership and participatory management
∎ Ability to impart training to the project staff on different Environmental issues followed by World Bank and Government of Bangladesh;
∎ Must possess excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
