Additional Requirements:

• Prior experience with road projects will be considered an advantage.

• Familiarity with DoE clearance processes and ECC documentation is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of Bangladesh environmental laws, policies, and DoE guidelines.

• Proficiency in GIS, remote sensing, and related analytical tools.

• Excellent communication and report-writing skills in both English and Bangla.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Willingness to travel across Bangladesh for fieldwork.

Responsibilities & Context:

1. Carry out comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies for national, regional, and zilla roads, as well as other industrial and development projects in Bangladesh, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

2. Prepare and finalize EIA reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with project-specific and regulatory requirements.

3. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders; guide GSP’s survey team in conducting FGDs, KIIs, and other consultations.

4. Identify potential environmental impacts and develop mitigation and management plans to minimize adverse effects.

5. Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and standards, including guidelines from the Department of Environment (DoE), Forest Department, and other relevant authorities.

6. Assist GSP in obtaining necessary environmental clearances and approvals by preparing required documentation and providing expert inputs.

7. Prepare Environmental Clearance Certificate documentation, including developing Terms of Reference (ToR) for EIA studies.

8. Integrate GIS and Remote Sensing techniques into EIA reports for spatial analysis and impact assessment.

9. Provide regular progress updates to GSP and ensure effective communication regarding project timelines, deliverables, and issues.

10. Prepare project proposals based on team requirements.

11. Conduct field visits as necessary.

12. Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.

13. Provide an authorized signature on all EIA reports, certifying responsibility in preparation, review, and validation.
