Job title: Director of Research

Work Location: CSER, Dhaka, Bangladesh

Division/Department: Executive Management

Reports to: Executive Director

Responsibilities

1.      Develop and oversee CSER’s research agenda and thematic priorities.

2.      Lead economic, social, and policy research projects to ensure high-quality analytical outputs.

3.      Supervise and mentor economists, analysts, and research associates.

4.      Produce policy briefs, research reports, publications, and strategic recommendations.

5.      Ensure research methodologies, findings, and outputs meet professional and academic standards.

6.      Coordinate with government agencies, development partners, academia, and other stakeholders.

7.      Present research findings in seminars, workshops, conferences, and policy forums.

8.      Lead proposal development for donor-funded projects and institutional partnerships.

9.      Monitor project timelines, budgets, deliverables, and reporting requirements.

10.   Promote evidence-based policymaking through impactful research initiatives.

11.   Build collaborative relationships with local and international research organizations.

12.   Support organizational visibility through publications, media engagement, and stakeholder communication.

Education Requirements:

Master’s degree or PhD in Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field.

Work Experience:

Minimum 15+ years of experience in economic research, policy analysis, development research, or related fields.

3.      Proven experience leading multidisciplinary research teams.

4.      Strong understanding of economic policy and development challenges.
