Job Context

Karupannya, established in 1991, is a lifestyle and handicrafts business dedicated to reviving the ancient Satranji artistry of Bengal. Over the decades, it has grown into a renowned brand with a robust team of 100 employees in sales and marketing and thousands of skilled artisans. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic E-commerce Manager to lead our online sales strategy and operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving e-commerce growth, enhancing customer experience, and managing the day-to-day operations of our online store.


Job Responsibilities for E-commerce Manager


Strategic Planning and Execution: 

  1. Develop and implement e-commerce strategies aligned with the company`s business goals.
  2. Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.

Website Management:

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the e-commerce website. 
  2. Ensure the website is user-friendly, up-to-date, and optimized for performance.


Sales and Marketing:

  1. Plan and execute online marketing campaigns, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media.
  2. Collaborate with the marketing team to drive traffic and improve conversion rates. 

Customer Experience:

  1. Enhance the customer journey by improving website navigation, product descriptions, and user interface.
  2. Manage customer service operations, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions to inquiries and complaints. 

Product Management:

  1. Coordinate with the product team to ensure the timely listing of new products.
  2. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with logistics to manage stock and deliveries. 
  3. Managing and optimizing the online product catalog, including product descriptions, images, and pricing 

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  1. Use analytics tools to track and report on e-commerce performance metrics.
  2. Monitoring web analytics and making data-driven decisions to improve website performance and customer engagement

Budget Management:

  1. Prepare and manage the e-commerce budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  2. Monitor expenditure and ROI of online campaigns and initiatives.

Team Leadership:

  1. Lead and mentor the e-commerce team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  2. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and customer service, to achieve business objectives.
  3. Tracking and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of e commerce activities and to inform future strategies.

Vendor and Partner Relations:

  1. Negotiate and manage relationships with third-party vendors, payment gateways, and logistics providers. 
  2. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in e-commerce operations.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  1. Stay updated with the latest e-commerce trends and technologies.
  2. Implement innovative solutions to enhance the online shopping experience and operational efficiency.
