Job Responsibilities:
∎ Act as team leader for production and preservation of quality seed.
∎ Preparation of Research and Development budget and fixation of target on the basis of market demand.
∎ Providing technical guideline to the team involved in R & D, production and processing.
∎ Finding the source (home & abroad) of varieties prominent in the markets.
∎ Germplasms collection from home and abroad for R & D activities and screening of germplasms for identification, evaluation & purification.
∎ Development of inbreed, hybrid, HYV and OP varieties of rice.
∎ Conduct varietal performance trial and perform grow-out test of the varieties as routine work.
∎ Demonstration of regional or multi-location yield / performance trial for adaptability.
∎ Production, preservation and distribution of source seeds.
∎ Multiplication and maintenance of parent lines to be used for hybrid/ HYV development.
∎ Communication with national and international seed companies and research organization for update information.
∎ Over all supervisor and harmonizing the production, processing and distribution activities in the working station.
∎ Monitoring the quality control test procedure of the seed lots.
∎ Maintenance of the registers and other relevant documents of the working station.
∎ Daily supervision of seed store, processing room store room and R & D fields.
∎ Care and handling of the equipment's, machines and apparatus at working station.
