Experience:
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in community-based development or agriculture projects.Experience in sustainable/organic farming, climate resilience, or rural livelihoods programming.Proven experience in field coordination, monitoring, and reporting.Experience working with marginalized communities, women, and indigenous groups preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Implementation & Field Coordination
Community Mobilization & Training
Organize village-level consultations, awareness sessions, and community meetings on sustainable and organic farming.
Mobilize and select beneficiaries ensuring at least 50% women participation and inclusion of indigenous communities (Garo, Hajong, Koch, Barman), youth, and marginalized farmers.
Coordinate and support delivery of training sessions on composting, crop diversification, natural pest management, and climate-smart agriculture.
Facilitate refresher trainings and farmer-to-farmer exchanges.
Demonstration Plots & Field Activities
Support establishment and monitoring of demonstration plots in project districts.
Oversee distribution of starter kits (local seeds, tools, organic inputs).
Conduct regular follow-up visits to trained farmers to assess adoption of sustainable practices.
Identify and mentor “Agri-Champions” to promote peer learning.
Partner & Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with local authorities, agriculture officers, community leaders, and networking organizations.
Maintain strong relationships with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs).
2. Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting
Monitoring & Data Collection
Collect and maintain accurate beneficiary data (gender and category disaggregated).
Track progress against project indicators and logical framework targets.
Conduct routine field monitoring visits and provide feedback to management.
Support midline and endline evaluation processes.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports.
Document case studies, farmer success stories, lessons learned, and good practices.
Support preparation of donor narrative reports.
Maintain proper records of trainings, meetings, and field activities.
Accountability & Safeguarding
Ensure implementation of BELA’s Safeguarding policy and principles.
Facilitate community-friendly feedback and grievance mechanisms.
Immediately report safeguarding or compliance concerns to supervisors.
3. Advocacy & Networking Support
Support organization of meetings with policymakers, agricultural officers, and local authorities.
Assist in preparation of policy briefs and case documentation.
Facilitate participation of farmer representatives in dialogues and roundtables.
Engage local media to promote awareness on sustainable agriculture and environmental justice.
Leadership & Coordination
Work closely with Divisional Coordinator, Field Coordinator, Monitoring Coordinator, and Technical Expert.
Contribute to monthly coordination meetings and adaptive planning.
Ensure alignment of field activities with overall project objectives and donor requirements.
