They are at risk of being denied the opportunity to access a secondary education, to gain the skills and training they need to work and to exercise control over their sexual and reproductive health. They are at risk of being married before the age of 18. They are at risk of violence and harassment in every space they occupy, including their home, their school, their refugee camp and their city.
∎ The Plan International Bangladesh Country Strategy 2020-2030 examines the root causes of gender inequality in the country and the signi_cant opportunities and barriers to our programme work, and identies three impact areas in which to focus to achieve our vision. Its speci_c impact goal is: "By 2030, children and youth will be recognised as leaders of change in gender norms and make informed decisions about their lives".

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Plan International Bangladesh is looking for a Director Girls Rights. The role and scope include:
∎ Lead independent national advocacy and campaigns work on priority issues in line with the national influencing strategy.
∎ Being an active member of Country Management Team, support country director & the team in overall external policy analysis
∎ Ensure the development of a national communication strategy that looks to position Plan International.
∎ Bangladesh as a leading organization in the empowerment of girls.
∎ Play the role of media spokesperson for Plan in Bangladesh as delegated by Country Director and ensure that Plan in Bangladesh builds a strong media profile
∎ Coordinate and support the media activities of the Country Director and Country management Team
∎ Demonstrate common understanding and vision about the programme by all team members along with clear line of sight and structured communication.
∎ Direct line management of the programme lead/s (sector to be decided), Communication Manager, Campaign Manager, and other Adviser as required and relevant for the role and upcoming requirements derived from reviewed Country Strategy.
∎ Matrix Management of dedicated thematic/programme lead, particular programme will tagged/allocated after review of Country Strategy
Additional Requirements:
∎ We are looking for an inspiring and dynamic team leader with a minimum of 10 years senior leadership in national, regional, global level in influencing, campgaining, communication. campaigning and youth programming. Demonstrated experience in using with success key influencing strategies such as advocacy, lobbying, movement building, or policy development. Has strong knowledge of child and women's rights and gender justice, and a good understanding of the development and NGO sector. Essential, experience of working with youth coalitions and networks.
