Education:
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource Management
  • Additional certifications in HR management, such as PGDHR certifications, would be an advantage.

  • Strong understanding of labor laws, compliance regulations, and financial regulations related to microfinance institutions.

Additional Requirements:
  • Age At most 45 years
  • Additional certifications in HR management, such as PGDHR certifications, would be an advantage.

  • HR experience with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, ideally in microfinance, financial services, or non-profit sectors.

  • Proven track record in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and employee engagement within mission-driven organizations.   

  • Experience in developing and executing HR strategies that align with organizational goals, particularly in sectors focused on social impact.     

  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance, and financial regulations relevant to MFIs.     

  • Experience in compensation and benefits management, HR analytics, and using data to drive HR decisions.     

  • Demonstrated ability in leadership development, succession planning, and managing organizational change.      

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels.      

  • Experience in workforce planning and designing organizational structures for growth and sustainability.



Responsibilities & Context:
  • Contribute improve and execute HR strategies that align with the MFI’s mission, values, and business objectives, focusing on fostering financial inclusion and sustainable growth.

  • Lead the HR department, ensuring all HR practices support the MFI’s goals, with a focus on talent acquisition, development, and retention in the microfinance sector.

  • Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring that staff possess the necessary skills and values aligned with the MFI’s mission to serve low-income communities.

  • Build and maintain a strong employer brand to attract skilled professionals passionate about financial inclusion and poverty alleviation.

  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive work culture that enhances employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, addressing employee relations issues and promoting ethical practices in all HR activities.

  • Design and implement a performance management system that aligns staff performance with the MFI’s social and financial goals, ensuring continuous improvement.

  • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance appraisals, employee development, and fostering a high-performance culture within the organization.

  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring that they are fair, competitive within the microfinance sector, and compliant with local regulations.

  • Ensure adherence to all labor laws, financial regulations, and compliance requirements specific to the microfinance sector.

  • Use HR metrics and data analytics to monitor trends, measure the effectiveness of HR programs, and make data-driven decisions that support the organization’s long-term goals.

  • Prepare regular HR reports for senior management, offering insights on staffing, retention, employee satisfaction, and overall HR effectiveness.

  • Identify potential leadership talent within the organization, implementing succession planning to ensure the organization is prepared for growth and operational changes.

  • Implement and support training and development initiatives tailored to the microfinance industry, ensuring employees have the necessary skills to thrive in a financial inclusion environment.

  • Workforce planning and placements to ensure staffing levels are optimized for the MFI’s growth, ensuring both financial and social goals are met.
