Job Context:
∎ NGO Forum is looking for a Deputy Team Leader for the Supporting Local Democratic Governance and Climate Resilient Public Service Provision in Bangladesh Project.
∎ PROGRAMME SUMMARY:
∎ The project focus is to strengthen local democracy and improve equitable climate resilient basic public service provision in the water and solid waste management sectors.
∎ DUTY STATION AND CONTRACT DURATION:
∎ Based in Dhaka, Bangladesh
∎ Deputy Team Leader, full time, Duration: 4 years

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist Team Leader to carry on the overall responsibility for operations and coordination of all programme activities in Bangladesh, in close collaboration with the programme director with the thematic backstoppers and its implementing partners.
∎ Assist to lead and manage the Programme Facilitation Unit (team of experts and support staff in Bangladesh).
∎ Maintain relations with government counterparts and other programme partners in Bangladesh and with the concerned donor agency.
∎ Play supporting role for smooth functioning of administration, finances and human resources management for the office and team in Bangladesh.
∎ Assist in management of the monitoring, reporting and steering of the programme.
∎ Facilitate the conceptual matters and programme implementation of the project.
∎ Facilitate in organizing the Stakeholders Meeting and Project Steering Committee Meeting

Additional Requirements:
∎ Proven experience in the management of teams in development projects/programmes of comparable size and scope.
∎ Proven and understanding of using Thinking and Working Politically (TWP) approach in development programme is an asset.
∎ Solid experience with democratisation or/and climate change projects/programmes.
∎ Experienced in applying adaptive programme management.
∎ Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
∎ Excellent command in English.
