Education:
Master’s degree in any discipline with advanced training in Security Management.
Retired Defence personnel with officer rank and a minimum Bachelor’s degree qualification may also be considered.
Minimum 13 years of overall professional experience, including at least 2 years in a senior capacity position.
Relevant experience in hospital security, corporate security, industrial security, government/security organizations, military, police, or other large institutional security operations is preferred.
Proven experience in supervising large security teams and managing emergency situations, incident response, and security operations is highly desirable.
Job Summary
Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety, security, emergency response, fire safety, access control, loss prevention, and security operations across the hospital. The position ensures the safety of patients, visitors, doctors, employees, hospital assets, and facilities while maintaining a secure and professional healthcare environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Manage and supervise the overall security function, including in-house and outsourced security personnel, ensuring proper deployment, duty rosters, shift schedules, discipline, attendance, uniform standards, performance monitoring, and compliance with company requirements.
Develop and implement security plans, SOPs, post orders, emergency procedures, and contingency plans to ensure effective security operations and preparedness for incidents such as fire, evacuation, medical emergencies, natural disasters, and other critical situations.
Ensure effective access control and security management across hospital entrances, emergency, ICU, OT, wards, parking areas, and other sensitive locations, including control of visitors, contractors, vendors, staff, vehicles, and unauthorized access prevention.
Monitor and maintain security systems and equipment, including CCTV surveillance, access-control systems, security alarms, fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and other safety-related systems.
Conduct regular security inspections, patrols, risk assessments, and vulnerability reviews to identify security gaps and recommend improvements in manpower, technology, and procedures.
Prevent, manage, and investigate security incidents, including theft, loss, vandalism, violence, unauthorized activities, patient/visitor disputes, crowd control issues, and emergency security situations, while preparing investigation reports and corrective action recommendations.
Coordinate emergency response activities, including fire drills, evacuation exercises, emergency training, and coordination with Police, Fire Service, ambulance services, and relevant government authorities when required.
Ensure protection of hospital assets and sensitive resources, including medical equipment, medicines, documents, vehicles, infrastructure, and confidential information while maintaining patient privacy, dignity, and a professional healthcare environment.
Manage security operations during VIP visits, special events, high-profile patient cases, and critical situations to ensure smooth and secure execution.
Train and develop security personnel on communication, discipline, emergency response, fire safety, first response, hospital security procedures, and service standards.
Maintain security documentation and reporting systems, including security registers, incident reports, investigation records, CCTV records, and daily, weekly, and monthly security reports for management review.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, applicable laws, safety standards, and management instructions while continuously improving the overall security framework.
