Job Description:-
Responsible for providing comprehensive and evidence-based medical care to adult patients at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital Ltd. Duties include patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up; conducting ward rounds; reviewing investigations; managing medical emergencies and on-call duties; assisting Consultants in patient care; supervising Medical Officers and Residents; maintaining accurate clinical documentation; and ensuring compliance with hospital protocols, patient-safety standards and infection-control practices.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:-
Assess patients on admission, including initial clinical evaluation and identification of urgent medical problems.
Take a detailed medical history and perform physical examinations, ensuring findings are properly documented within the required timeframe.
Provide clinical guidance to Medical Officers regarding patient assessment and management.
Arrange or authorize appropriate diagnostic investigations, particularly urgent investigations when required, in accordance with the Consultant's direction.
Conduct daily ward rounds for patients admitted under the Medicine Department.
Regularly reassess patients and modify management/treatment as appropriate under the direction of the concerned Consultant.
Complete inpatient rounds, case sheets, progress notes and other clinical documentation every day without fail.
Provide appropriate treatment as advised by the Consultant and carefully verify medication dosage, frequency, route of administration and relevant precautions.
Continuously monitor patients' clinical progress and review their response to treatment.
Take appropriate action and provide initial management during medical and surgical emergencies when required.
Prepare discharge summaries accurately and within the required timeframe.
Explain discharge medications and relevant instructions clearly to patients and/or their attendants.
Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols and practices to maintain the safest possible environment for patients and staff.
Attend clinical meetings, workshops and departmental activities, including active participation in paper presentations.
Participate in hospital training programmes and continuing professional development to maintain and improve clinical knowledge and skills.
Participate in departmental teaching programmes.
Supervise and guide Residents and support their clinical development.
Assist Consultants in the day-to-day management of patients.
Perform on-call duties, including assessment and management of medical patients presenting through the Emergency Department, as advised by the Consultant.
