  • Proven track record in managing donor-funded health projects, ensuring strict adherence to donor compliance and reporting requirements.

  • Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills to effectively manage, inspire, and guide cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional bilingual written and verbal communication skills in Bengali and English, with proven capability in multi-stakeholder coordination.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, coupled with hands-on experience in planning and executing high-level program events.

Project Berief:

The project aims to strengthen climate-resilient and gender-responsive urban health systems in Barishal City Corporation by addressing the growing health impacts of climate change, including dengue, water- and skin-borne diseases, heat-related illnesses, and nutrition-related vulnerabilities. It will expand access to integrated primary healthcare and sexual and reproductive health services, including cervical cancer screening, while strengthening community preparedness, prevention, referral, and early care-seeking practices. The project will also generate evidence and promote community engagement to support inclusive, sustainable, and locally led climate-health solutions for vulnerable and climate-affected populations.

Job Purpose:

The Manager, Technical will provide technical leadership for project implementation ensuring quality health service delivery, evidence generation, and capacity development of frontline health workers. The role will oversee planning and field execution of ANC, PNC, mental health, and cancer screening interventions while coordinating with government and stakeholders to ensure evidence-based implementation and quality project outcomes.

(This is a contractual role with strong potential for extension, subject to performance, operational requirements and business needs)

Location: Field Office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support for the implementation of project interventions related to maternal health (ANC/PNC), newborn health, mental health,cancer screening, and climate-sensitive health services.

  •  Ensure the conduction of medical camps in selected areas targeting services for vulnerable population.

  • Oversee the public health standards of field operations, ensuring that primary healthcare services are safely delivered and adapt to climate-induced health vulnerabilities or disease outbreaks.

  • Develop and update technical tools, training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), guidelines for project implementation.

  • Design and lead training and refresher courses for Paramedics and Community Health Workers.

  • Conduct regular field monitoring, supervision, and identify implementation challenges and take corrective actions

  • Facilitate and support evidence generation initiatives including assessments, operational research, case studies, documentation of lessons learned, and dissemination of findings.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
