Experience:
14 –15+ years of relevant experience in Fire & Safety / Occupational Health & Safety.
Preferably 5+ years in a managerial/senior management position.
Strong experience in RMG/Garments/Textile manufacturing is highly preferred.
Experience managing Fire & Safety functions across multiple factories will be an advantage.
Preferred:
Fire Safety & Fire Fighting certification
Fire Service & Civil Defense training
Occupational Health & Safety certification
First Aid & Emergency Response
Risk Assessment / Incident Investigation
Relevant international safety training
Context:
To lead and oversee the organization's overall Fire, Life Safety, Occupational Health & Safety and Emergency Management functions, ensuring a safe working environment across factories and facilities while maintaining compliance with applicable Bangladesh laws, regulatory requirements, buyer standards and international safety practices.
Job Responsibilities:
Implement the Group's overall Fire & Safety strategy, policies, procedures and annual action plans.
Establish standardized fire and workplace safety systems across all factories and facilities.
Identify critical safety risks and advise senior management on appropriate mitigation measures.
Monitor overall safety performance and continuously improve the organization's safety culture.
Establish safety objectives, KPIs and performance-monitoring systems.
Ensure compliance with applicable:
Bangladesh Labour Act & Rules
Fire Prevention and Extinction Act & Rules
BNBC requirements
Fire Service & Civil Defence requirements
Environmental and occupational safety requirements
Buyer/brand safety standards and Codes of Conduct
Applicable international safety standards
Maintain valid fire licenses, certificates, approvals and other statutory documentation.
Liaise with Fire Service & Civil Defence, government authorities, buyers, auditors and third-party organizations on safety matters.
Ensure effective installation, inspection, testing and maintenance of:
Fire alarm systems
Fire detection systems
Fire extinguishers
Hydrant systems
Fire pumps
Hose reels
Sprinkler systems, where applicable
Emergency lighting
Public address systems
Fire doors and emergency exits
Review the adequacy and effectiveness of fire protection systems across factories.
Coordinate with Engineering/Projects for fire safety requirements in new construction, expansion and renovation projects.
Establish a systematic workplace hazard identification and risk assessment process.
Review risks related to:
Production machinery
Electrical systems
Boiler and utility areas
Chemical storage and handling
Warehouses
Generator rooms
Kitchens
Construction/maintenance activities
Work at height
Confined spaces
Hot work
Ensure appropriate corrective and preventive measures are implemented.
Monitor high-risk activities and ensure proper permit-to-work systems where applicable.
Develop and maintain the Group's Emergency Response Plan / Business Emergency Plan.
Establish and train emergency response teams.
Conduct regular fire drills, evacuation drills and other emergency simulations.
Review drill performance and implement corrective actions.
Ensure adequate emergency communication systems and assembly points.
Lead emergency response coordination during major incidents.
Lead internal Fire & Safety audits across factories.
Coordinate buyer, third-party, government and other external safety audits.
Review audit findings and establish corrective action plans.
Monitor CAP implementation and ensure timely closure of critical findings.
Analyze recurring findings and implement preventive measures across the organization.
Lead investigation of major fire incidents, accidents, injuries, near misses and other safety events.
Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
Maintain incident statistics and identify trends.
Report serious incidents immediately to senior management.
Ensure lessons learned are communicated throughout the organization.
Develop annual Fire & Safety training plans.
Ensure employees receive appropriate safety induction and refresher training.
Conduct training on:
Fire prevention
Firefighting
Emergency evacuation
First aid
PPE
Electrical safety
Chemical safety
Machine safety
Emergency response
Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
Lead and develop the Fire & Safety management team.
Establish clear roles, responsibilities and performance expectations.
Review manpower requirements for Fire & Safety operations.
Develop competency and training plans for Fire Officers, Fire Fighters and Safety Officers.
Conduct performance reviews and identify high-potential team members.
Ensure adequate fire-fighting and emergency-response manpower for all shifts.
Prepare and present periodic Fire & Safety performance reports to senior management.

Audit findings
CAPA status
Drill performance
Training status
Equipment readiness
Regulatory compliance
Recommend investment and improvement projects based on identified risks.
