Job Overview
We are seeking a competent, responsible, and experienced Depot Manager to oversee the overall operations, inventory management, distribution activities, and administrative functions of our depot. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient stock management, timely product distribution, operational compliance, and effective coordination between the depot, sales team, transport personnel, and management.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the depot.
Ensure smooth receiving, storage, handling, and dispatch of products.
Monitor operational efficiency and implement improvements where necessary.
Maintain proper records of stock movement and depot activities.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
Maintain accurate inventory records and stock control systems.
Conduct regular stock verification and reconciliation.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment requirements.
Minimize inventory discrepancies, losses, and damages.
Ensure proper storage and handling practices are followed.
Distribution & Logistics
Plan and supervise product distribution to ensure timely deliveries.
Coordinate transportation schedules and route planning.
Monitor delivery performance and resolve distribution-related issues.
Maintain communication with transport providers, drivers, and sales teams.
Ensure efficient utilization of vehicles and logistics resources.
Team Management
Supervise depot staff, warehouse personnel, and support teams.
Assign duties and monitor employee performance.
Ensure discipline, productivity, and teamwork within the depot.
Provide guidance and training to staff when required.
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Analyses depot performance and submit recommendations to management.
Ensure compliance with company regulations and relevant legal requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation related to inventory, dispatch, and operational activities.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Additional professional training in logistics, warehouse management, or operations will be an advantage.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 4–5 years of proven experience in Depot Management, Operations, Distribution, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, distribution, or similar industries will be highly preferred.
Additional Requirements
Age: Minimum 30 years.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Good knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and distribution management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and reporting tools.
Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet operational targets.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
