Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor’s degree in BSc in Textile Engineering/ Merchandising/ Business Product Development / Sourcing / Supply Chain
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Works directly with leaders in Design, PD and Merchandising to understand, interpret and execute key seasonal denim fabric developments that meet aesthetic requirements and are in line with sourcing strategy and cost targets.
∎ Drives newness and innovation for the business through raw material sourcing and development in partnership with Agents and key strategic suppliers.
∎ Oversees the fabric rationalization process for all managed areas, including full package (nominated and non-nominated)
∎ Execute seasonal fabric development briefs into bulk ready fabrics that meet fabric standards and adhere to the timelines, sourcing strategy and costing targets
∎ Oversee all fabric testing and concessions in partnership with PI; Identify potential production, quality and costing issues, and make recommendations to mitigate risk.
∎ Partner with PD and overseas offices to execute counter source fabric development
∎ Participate in weekly cross functional meetings; ensure fabric approval and documentation to all business partners to meet sampling and production deadlines
∎ Lead seasonal fabric rationalization efforts for both nominated and full package fabrics.
∎ Provide direction and following through to overseas fabric counterparts
∎ Challenge business partners as appropriate to prevent re-work, redundancies, and inefficiency
∎ Lead fabric volume negotiations with mills on a 6-month rotation
∎ Build and maintain fabric library as resource for Design and PD
∎ Align with business partners on seasonal development metrics
∎ Meet key deadlines for fabric development and approvals in line with the GTM
∎ Fabric development aligned to strategic sourcing strategy and cost targets
∎ Consistent progress season over season in Fabric Rationalization initiatives
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum 5 years’ experience of Denim Fabric Planner
∎ Expertise in denim fabric structures required
∎ Expertise in denim wash methods preferred
∎ Knowledge of fabric construction standards and manufacturing methods
∎ Working knowledge of Denim manufacturing process.
∎ Comfortable with technology; ability to learn and use new/advanced technology
∎ Ability to manage change and shift priorities based on evolving business requirements
∎ Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities
∎ Extremely strong customer service orientation and the ability to multi-task; with the desire to work in a very fast paced environment and an ability embrace with last minute changes
∎ Impeccable communication skills across all channels with an ability to get the message across over any means necessary to internal and international business partners in a timely and quick manner
