As we expand our production footprint into Bangladesh, we’re seeking a skilled and driven Country Manager to build and lead a trusted supply chain network of handicraft factories.
Position Overview
The Bangladesh Country Manager will be the primary liaison between our U.S. headquarters, Qingdao sourcing office, and Bangladesh-based handicraft factories. This strategic role will lead the sourcing and onboarding of new factory partners, oversee compliance and quality assurance, and product safety testing as we scale our production in the region.
Country Manager Duties and Responsibilities
In alignment with the company's purchasing strategies, Identify, evaluate, and onboard new factory partners across handwoven, sewn, and handcrafted home goods categories
Negotiate with vendors and service providers needed for production
Ensure all factories comply with international standards in social compliance, sustainability, and ethical manufacturing
Manage in-country quality assurance processes, including factory audits and product inspections
Recruit and develop a high-performing supply chain team within the country focused on production oversight, compliance, and vendor relations
Act as the day-to-day point of contact between U.S. leadership and Bangladesh factories, providing regular updates on capability, capacity, quality, schedule, risk
Represent the company with professionalism and integrity in all stakeholder interactions
Manage and control departmental expenses within agreed budget
Manage every aspect of our expanding operation in-country
Collaborate with local businesses to acquire all necessary resources and services
Synthesize reports on progress and development
Analyze cost inputs, trends, and market dynamics, seeking efficiency improvement and cost savings.
Requirements
Degree in business administration, sales, or relevant field
Demonstrate stable employment history in positions of increasing responsibility
5+ years' experience in sourcing, vendor management, or manufacturing operations, preferably in home goods, handicrafts, or soft goods categories
Strong knowledge of Bangladesh’s handicraft manufacturing landscape and compliance standards
Proven ability to build partnerships and manage cross-cultural communication
Fluency in English and Bengali required
Highly organized with strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Interest or experience in home décor, design trends and handicraft industry
Personal commitment to high ethical standards
Willingness to travel within Bangladesh and occasionally international
