Job Context:
∎ Bangladesh Health Watch (BHW) was established in 2006 as a multi-stakeholder civil society body dedicated to improve the health system in Bangladesh through evidence based critical review of policies and programmes, and recommend appropriate actions for change, especially to have a positive impact on social exclusion and inequity. Recently, BHW has launched a 37 months project with the goal to strengthen the healthcare system so that is more responsive to people`s needs and demands. It is expected that the project will create `a more responsive health care system that delivers better quality, more transparent and equitable health care for all being informed by people`s participation and voice`.
∎ BHW is now recruiting for the following position to set up a full- fledged Secretariat to implement the regular activities of BHW and implement project activities revolving around research, high level advocacy with policy makers and programme planners, development partners and civil society partners. It is an exciting innovative project, based at JPGSPH and offering excellent working environment. Only individuals working at senior mid-level should apply.
∎ We are looking to recruit a Coordinator, Field Operations for the School
∎ Job Location: Dhaka with frequent field visit
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead the activities of Regional Chapters (RC) of Bangladesh Health Watch (BHW).
∎ Ensure effective and efficient field operations
∎ Ensure effective relationships of RC team of BHW with Host Organizations, Health Rights Forums and Youth Forums, health authorities and other stakeholders of Regional Chapters.
∎ Ensure activeness and enthusiasm among Regional Chapters volunteers
∎ Provide proper guidance to Regional Chapters to achieve project goals and objectives.
∎ Ensure efficient documentation system to capture process, results and learnings of Regional Chapters.
∎ Develop guidelines, concept notes for training, workshop, meeting, campaign and other capacity building and advocacy initiatives.
∎ Ensure proper support to perform different types of activities including short courses for service providers, research initiated by Bangladesh Health Watch at the regional level, thematic groups etc
∎ Ensure administrative, financial and programmatic standards of Bangladesh Health Watch and JPGSPH in field operations
∎ Supervise and support Programme Officers (Networking & Liaison).
∎ Networking with GOB and other stakeholders for broader alliances
∎ Assist the Chief Coordinator in different activities as per need
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years of experience in working at senior mid-level; few experiences of working with the government
∎ Familiar with the health sector of Bangladesh; experience of working closely with the government will be an advantage
∎ Experience to manage civil society movement both locally and nationally
∎ Excellent communication skills, especially writing skills in both English and Bangla
∎ Capable of working under pressure
∎ Demonstrable capacity to work on several fronts and with several agencies in parallel
∎ Capacity to multi-task and work across the organization
∎ Proficient in using different computer applications
∎ Willingness to visit District even Upazila level frequently
∎ Self-starter and able to priorities
∎ Person of high integrity and resilience
