Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Bengali
Strong interpersonal and team management skills
Strong network within the global public health and nutrition community
Established relationships with international funding agencies
Expert knowledge of Bangladesh's health system and policy environment
Preferred
Experience in academic administration or center/program management
Deep understanding of research administration and budgeting
Experience with translating research to practice

BRAC JPGSPH is looking for a Director, CNCDN for the school.
Purpose: As a Director, you need to provide strategic leadership and vision for research, education, training and policy initiatives addressing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases and nutrition challenges in Bangladesh and the global south. This senior management position requires an accomplished public health professional who can advance the CNCDN mission through strategic leadership, innovative research, capacity building, partnership development, guideline and quality standard development, and evidence-based policy advocacy.
Key Job responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Vision
Implement the long-term strategic roadmap for CNCDN that aligns with national and global priorities in NCD and nutrition, and the goals of BRAC JPGSPH and BRAC University
Lead the CNCDN research agenda, identifying emerging priorities and opportunities in the area of NCD and nutrition
Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration within the CNCDN and JPGSPH
Represent CNCDN at national and international forums, enhancing its visibility and impact
Resource Mobilization and Partnership
Lead grant-writing efforts and proactively identify funding opportunities from national and international organizations
Strengthen existing partnerships and cultivate new ones with academic and research institutions in Bangladesh and abroad
Contribute to grant-writing efforts in partnership with other research centers/hubs in JPGSPH, BRAC University, BRAC and external organizations
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government ministries, UN agencies, international organizations, and civil society organizations
Engage with regional and global networks focused on NCDs and nutrition
Research and Scholarship
Direct and conduct high-quality research on NCDs and nutrition-related issues, with emphasis on population health, health systems, digital health, and policy frameworks
Mentor junior faculty and research staff in developing their research portfolios
Ensure rigorous research standards and ethical practices across all CNCDN activities
Provide assistance to a team of manuscript writing cluster leads
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and disseminate research through policy briefs and other channels
Contribute to the JPGSPH research as a member of the research strategy team
Academic Programs and Capacity Building
Contribute to teaching in MPH, EMPH, PhD, and short courses related to NCDs and nutrition
Develop new academic courses, certificates, or training programs to build workforce capacity
Supervise graduate students' internship and dissertations
Develop and deliver training programs for government officials, NGO staff, and health professionals
Contribute to the JPGSPH academic mission as a member of the academic council
Policy Engagement and Advocacy
Translate research findings into actionable policy recommendations
Provide technical assistance to government and other stakeholders on NCD and nutrition policies
and programs
Participate in national and international policy dialogues and technical working groups
Support national and international evidence-based advocacy efforts to address NCDs and
malnutrition
Administrative and Financial Management
Oversee the CNCDN operations, budget, resource allocation, and human resources operation
Ensure financial sustainability through diversified funding streams
Manage grants and contracts in compliance with donor, university and university grant commission
requirements
Manage a multidisciplinary team of researchers, research support staff, and administrative staff
Ensure all CNCDN activities comply with JPGSPH and BRAC U policy and other relevant policies
