Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory in a reputed diagnostic centre after postgraduate qualification.
  • Experience managing hospital laboratory services.
  • Experience in quality assurance, laboratory accreditation, and hospital diagnostic services.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory systems and diagnostics
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems

The Opportunity

Save the Children Bangladesh operates the Maternal and Child Hospital (MCH) to address critical gaps in maternal, newborn, and child health services by providing comprehensive, high-quality emergency and specialized care. MCH delivers Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (CEmONC), including the management of complicated pregnancies and deliveries, emergency Caesarean Sections, blood transfusion services, neonatal intensive and special care, paediatric inpatient and outpatient services, and emergency care.

The Consultant– Laboratory Medicine is responsible for providing clinical and technical leadership for implementing partner and SCI to run all laboratory diagnostic services ensuring accuracy, quality control, on time, and reliable laboratory results that support evidence-based patient care. The post holder will oversee laboratory operations round the clock, quality management, blood transfusion laboratory services, biosafety, infection prevention & control, and diagnostic stewardship while ensuring compliance with national standards, Save the Children policies, and international best practices.
