Job Context:
∎ Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB) is one of the leading organizations dedicated to public health research in Bangladesh. The centre is now looking for qualified persons to fulfill the above vacant posts immediately to work in disaster and drowning prevention programme funded by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), UK.
∎ Duration: Initially for 1 year (with 3 months` probation period), possibility for further extension based on individual performance and funding availability.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Consultant will provide technical assistance to the Project Director in the following field of work:
∎ ensuring compliance of activities with project communication strategy as synchronization with the guidelines of CIPRB and partner organization;
∎ developing key promotional messages in consultation with the project team;
∎ organizing and participating in technical meetings/workshops to develop Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials for the project;
∎ coordinating communication activities and events of the project;
∎ conducting awareness raising campaigns, events, information, dissemination workshops, etc. for the target groups;
∎ monitoring program implementation including quality assurance and maintain liaison with the target groups;
∎ showcasing project progress and achievements;
∎ disseminating of communication materials to relevant stakeholders (as the Focal Person);
∎ drafting case studies and relevant project documents (as and when required)
∎ The Consultant will also be responsible for overall communication activities i.e. drafting annual report and designing advocacy materials; regular updating website of the organization; maintaining Facebook and Twitter of the organization; and updating communication strategy of the organization considering global market needs etc.; and
∎ The Consultant may be required to perform duties that are beyond the scope of the job description in mutual discussion and agreement with the senior management.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5-6 years of professional work experience in designing and executing communication activities, preferably in development programs
∎ Knowledge of and experience with media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media. Experience with communication/ creative agencies/ vendors will be added advantage
∎ Experience to create innovative design, Brochure, Catalogue, Leaflet, etc.
∎ Ability to communicate with people outside the organization, representing the organization to community, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail
∎ Extraordinary follow-through, attention to detail and deadlines, and a strong personal sense of accountability.
∎ Must meet the highest standards of ethics, with a demonstrated capacity for discretion and for handling sensitive information with care.
∎ Ability to create new ideas, relationships including creative contributions
∎ Ability to work in a team and to sometimes tight deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
∎ Proficient in use of computer applications related to the tasks
∎ Fluency in English and Bengali, written and verbal.
∎ Media monitoring
∎ Experience of working with INGOs and government bodies would be an advantage
