Job Context:
∎ Community Development Centre (CODEC) is working in the coastal area of Bangladesh since 1985. Its core activities are the socio-economic development of coastal people which is operated through seven thematic areas as Agriculture, Fishery, Dairy and Horticulture; Education, Skills and Youth Development; Conflict Resolution; Climate Change and Disaster; Health and Nutrition; Social Entrepreneurship; Microfinance and Rohingya Education, Protection and Repatriation.
∎ Community Development Centre (CODEC) is going to implement upcoming Project.The overall objective of the project is to strengthen food security through urban agriculture and support economic empowerment focusing on demand created by the camp itself.
∎ The specific objectives:
∎ Improved food security of 9000 vulnerable HH participants though urban agriculture and aquaculture
∎ Enhance Skills 1000 adult youth producing handicrafts and itemized foods through center- based livelihood training.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for project activity implementation in Camps (Agriculture &Aquaculture)
∎ Creation of community awareness
∎ Assist the project team for the identification of beneficiaries.
∎ Assist in operations management; transportation, security, internal communications, planning checking land ownership/property documentation of selected beneficiaries or selected sites.
∎ Hold community sessions and meetings to educate the community of the Agriculture and aquaculture both at the facility and community level.
∎ Design IEC/BCC materials for the project awareness message and linkages to more effective and efficient awareness service provision and disseminate this widely into the community ensuring wide coverage.
∎ Together with the refugee community and other NGOs working in the area, identify and map the physical locations of the agricultural facilities to benefit from the vegetable gardening and fishing project.
∎ Identify security focal points in the community in liaison with the community leaders and the technical officers.
∎ Participate in the sensitization of the security focal points on their role as well as assist in their orientation into the programme
∎ Collaborate with camp authorities and with the respective communities in the putting in place security arrangements for the fish culture and gardening.
∎ In coordination with the community leaders, and together with the Technical Officers, technical trainings for gardening and fish culture and upkeep of the technical knowhow.
∎ Facilitate the identification and set up of the training venues, including the logistical aspects for the same
∎ Coordinate all the project related camp activities pertaining to agriculture and aquaculture awareness activities in close collaboration with the govt. and respective technical personnel’s.
∎ Designing the community awareness strategy and materials to be used for communicating of information to affected communities identified by the project teams.
∎ Provide written and concise reports for all the training and community outreach activities
∎ Monitor and analyse the trends and progress and provide information and reports regarding linkages between community and committee.
∎ Provide monthly reports to the respective authority/Project Coordinator on all activities undertaken
∎ Perform any other tasks as required by line manager or technical manager.
∎ Provide support in monitoring and follow-up the implementation community led initiatives and compliance with the provisions and tasks and responsibilities under the project.
∎ Assist in the implementation of the awareness and information activities through close coordination with community liaison teams.
∎ Notify the Project focal/coordinator/Manager about anticipated delays or any project related community concerns
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ • Understanding and speaking the local language
∎ • At least 3 years of experience in community coordination/ community mobilization/engagement is required.
∎ • Previous working experience in development projects with NGO experience an advantage.
∎ • Experience in working with Local authorities and local communities is added advantage.
Salary: Tk. 40000 (Monthly)
