Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the guidance of the Community Health Coordinator, the Community Health Officer will be responsible for-
∎
∎ Facilitate advocacy meetings and awareness raising sessions at the community level with community health workers.
∎ Work with the community health coordinator and nutrition team to develop monthly work plans for the community health workers.
∎ Participate in community-level data collection and other M&E activities as necessary under the guidance of the community health coordinator.
∎ Collect and compile project data regularly; submission of data and narrative report to DSO and Health and nutrition Program Manager including case studies, success stories and photographs of facilities.
∎ Train community health workers with support from the Health Program Officer.
∎ Provide inputs for donor requirements for data collection and reporting for health grants.
∎ Ensure program targets are met through implementation of community health activities.
∎ Ensure the community based activities such as EPI, case finding/screening, clinic referrals, health education and defaulter tracing are done properly.
∎ Actively participate in the identification and management of any disaster or epidemics.
∎ Serve as health focal point for service area as required.
∎ Build the capacity of community health workers through proper coaching and training.
∎ Maintain liaison with other key stakeholders for the smooth running of services as appropriate.
∎ Keeping all documents updated and providing DSO/Supervisor/ health coordinator.
∎ Train the CHWs for periodic development. Continue with refresher trainings.
∎ Supportive supervision for the CHWs.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least three years' experience in a similar position.
∎ Experience in health promotion, program coordination or community health work.
∎ Ability to train and supervise staff and prioritize competing tasks.
∎ Previous experience managing staff is essential.
∎ Knowledge of developing BCC and IEC material and working experience in the field of SBCC is essential for CHO position.
∎ Knowledge of local language is an asset.
∎ English language proficiency is required.
∎ Computer literacy with MS word, MS Excel and power point.

∎ As per RI National Pay Scale Policy in Bangladesh
