Job Context:

∎ There are vacancies for the following contractual position for the Waste Management Project funded by Tearfund as follows;
∎ Job Summary: Assist to increase capability of communities on waste management, IGA through solid waste, health hazard & climate change issue with municipality, educational institutions, volunteer groups, community & SHG, CBO at project working area. Identify and reduce risks for communities through community engagement. Supporting to implement LAMB Waste Management project’s purpose and goals through coordination, rapport building and networking among local group.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare a monthly action plan and implement thoroughly
∎ Survey & cooperate regular work at field level with different group
∎ Regularization of LGI, club, SMC and community
∎ Facilitation at club, Children Health Club and support for implementation.
∎ Revitalize ward based waste management committee
∎ Assist community groups to formulate for the planning of health and climate change adaptation’s activities.
∎ Provide necessary training for volunteers &community people
∎ Organize and conduct sessions in different groups
∎ Coordinating project works with government and non-government service providers.
∎ Arrange awareness sessions on community-based waste management, health risks community groups, club, adolescents, students & educational institutions.
∎ Reducing the risk of local waste through community groups / educational institutions and CBOs or taking steps to solve the problem, inspire the community.
∎ Arrange promotional activities through billboard, poster, festoons, newsletter and newspaper for awareness.
∎ Coordinate with other (Government and Non-Government) organizations through the assistance of Municipality, educational institutions and CBOs for risk reduction or adaptation to climate change in local disaster or problem-solving.
∎ Share with different community members about the progress of activities.
∎ Arrange necessary training in increasing the skills and competence of community members.
∎ Regular meeting with different groups and preserve meeting decisions.
∎ Keep role in establishing communication between local administration and Government officials.
∎ Prepare final report of program in monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly and present it in monthly staffs’ coordination meeting at upazila office and submit report to supervisor and different departments of LAMB.
∎ Regular follow-up programs, observation, monitoring and provide necessary feedback to staffs.
∎ Ensure good communication between LAMB and local level
∎ Establish very good linkage among the community, local government, waste management committee, CHC,
∎ Assist community to influence government departments to increase budget provision for institutional system for waste management, economic and environment sustainability
∎ Analyze decision making that is specific to project and community and provide this information for dissemination.
∎ Ensure transparent in preparing bill voucher
∎ Prepare bill voucher as per LAMB policy at field level
∎ Approve invoice of the program within the level of authority
∎ Assist Technical Officer to review project financial issues
∎ Ensure prayer at beginning of daily work, before the meeting, workshop, seminar &training
∎ Ensure availability of religious books and references at project office
∎ Ensure spiritual concepts & holistic approach to communication, service delivery, administration and resolution of conflicts
∎ Ensure religious and organizational values among staffs following organizational policies including safeguarding policy (child protection, adult vulnerable policy)
∎ Promote LAMB values
∎ Ensure that all community staff understand LAMB Mission, vision,and values
∎ Be an example in implementing the project activities to the organizational mission, vision,and values
∎ Any other duty assigned by supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum 1 year experience in the community mobilization & working with the exremely poor households in hard to reach areas will be given preference. Knowledge on waste management and skills on good facilitating in the community required.

Salary:
∎ Around Tk.16,100 per month gross
