Experience:

  • 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, preferably in building construction and maintenance.
  • Experience with multi-story buildings and diverse facilities is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles, building codes, and construction practices.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETABS, SAP2000).
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of building materials and their properties.
  • Experience in contract management is desirable.


Responsibilities & Context:

Job Summary:

The civil engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and repair of RAOWA’s 12-floor complex and its associated infrastructure. This includes ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and functionality of the building and its various facilities (Restaurant, Bar, Mosque, Card Room, Library, Swimming pool, Gym, Billiard area, Bakery, Convention Hall, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Design:

  • Develop and review structural designs, drawings, and specifications for new construction, renovations, and repairs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for proposed projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards (Bangladesh National Building Code, etc.).
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Construction Management:

  • Oversee construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Manage contractors and subcontractors.
  • Monitor progress, track costs, and prepare progress reports.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and safety.

Maintenance & Repair:

  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for the building and its facilities.
  • Inspect the building regularly to identify potential problems and initiate repairs.
  • Supervise and coordinate repair work, ensuring it is done efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage maintenance records and documentation.

Project Management:

  • Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Monitor project progress and report to management.

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical advice and support to other departments within RAOWA.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in civil engineering and construction technology.

Other Duties:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the authority.
