Job Context:
∎ Duty Station: Based in Cox`s Bazar with frequent travel to Ukhiya and Teknaf (Field Offices/Camps)
∎ Report to: Protection Program Manager
∎ Department: Protection
∎ Expected Start Date: ASAP
∎ Contract length: Up to 31st December, 2022 (With possibility of Extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)
∎ Position Summary: CP coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring all community-based child protection activities. Ensure standard management of child protection spaces including quality of structured and sustained mental health and psychosocial support and services and life skills and pre-vocational skills, resilience activities for adolescent.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Oversee delivery of the project objectives, specifically:
∎ Ensure standard quality of ensure standard management of child protection spaces including quality of structured and sustained mental health and psychosocial support and services
∎ Lead community-based child protection mechanism and continuously strengthen community-led initiative
∎ Support the timely delivery of program activities (for example, monitoring against log frames and work plans)
∎ Develop monthly work plans in advance and present to the Protection Program Manager
∎ Ensure written reports are in the highest quality and completed in a timely manner
∎ Close collaborative with CP case management team and ensure effective referral coordination:
∎ Closely support CP case management coordinator in strengthen referral pathway amongst team, other stake holder and community
∎ To support CP case management team to ensure safe and privacy spaces for CP case management
∎ Capacity building:
∎ Provide appropriate training/ orientation/ workshop to build capacity of RI protection staffs
∎ Monitoring & evaluation staffs capacity development and able to document the lesson learnt and way forward
∎ Coordination:
∎ Represent Relief International at relevant sector meetings/trainings requested by the Protection Program Manager.
∎ Close collaborate with RI protection team, health team and other RI program
∎ Any other responsibilities as requested by Protection Program Manager
Additional Requirements:
∎ Work Experience: Minimum five years of progressive experience in a relevant sector. Working in child protection in humanitarian program implementation in conflict or immediate post conflict environments will be preferred.
∎ Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
∎ Extensive experience working in child protection programming or relevant experiences
∎ Extensive experience in community-based child protection
∎ Strong background and skills in facilitating trainings, coaching and mentoring others
∎ Familiarity with CP minimum standard,
∎ Prior experience working with Rohingya communities will be an advantage
∎ Competency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel
∎ Experience in effectively dealing with international staff, donor agencies, government officials
∎ Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, taking into account cultural and language difficulties
∎ Enthusiasm to learn
∎ Optimistic and friendly
∎ Flexibility
∎ Language Skills:
∎ Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in Bengali and English
∎ Good command in Rohingya, an asset
∎ Safeguarding and Gender Sensitiveness
