Educational Requirements:
∎ Graduation in any discipline (BA, BSS, BSC pass candidate can apply). but preferably in English, education, social studies or other relevant disciplines
∎ Minimum 2-3 years experiences working in child sponsorship program/activities such as translation, writing reports and success stories in English, child family surveys, running child clubs, overseeing adolescent's activities, etc.

Job Context:
∎ We are looking for a young energetic, dynamic, efficient person to fill up this position. This position requires knowledge, skills and serving attitudes to work under the Area Team Leader. For this position one panel will be made and recruit one by one from the panel, some post will be fill-up immediately.
∎ Job Summary: The Child Promoter (CP) will be directly supervised by the Area Team Leader and technical support will be provided by the Sponsorship Relations Officers. The CP is responsible for the implementation of all child-sponsorship activities, local training, networking with community schools, and monitoring and improving sponsored children`s education (i.e. attendance, performance, activities, effectiveness, etc.). The CP conducts regular sponsored-child family visits and works alongside with other project staff to achieve the result expected from the sponsorship activities. His/her focus is to improve quality of sponsorship correspondence (i.e. letters, cards, pictures/photos, drawings, etc.), child leadership skills and self-esteem, increase the guardians and community`s awareness of children issues, sharing social values with children, and protecting child rights.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Below is some basic information about FH Association and our program called, Comprehensive Family & Community Transformation (CFCT) program.
∎ FH Bangladesh (FH/B) has been working in Bangladesh since the birth of the country in 1971. Over the years the work has developed from disaster relief, to micro-lending to today's focus of helping the poor see how to build upon their own resources to rise out of poverty.
∎ Since 1995, FH/B has been implementing multiple comprehensive community transformation programs.Today, FH/B is working in 22 project locations, in 8 districts of the country.
∎ The call of FH/B is to develop the social and economic capacity of the poorest and most disadvantaged people by
∎ fostering their self-development. The key focuses are 1) growing the confidence within people that they can change their own lives for the better; 2) instilling values that make for a productive and supportive society; and 3) developing skills that equip people to progress their own development.
∎ 1. HEALTH
∎ FH/B brings groups of women together to hear monthly health lessons on nutrition, hygiene and basic medical practices. Each group has a list of 40 different criteria in order for them to graduate and be considered a self-led group. The criteria focus on the group members meeting their own needs by using their own funds (i.e. 100% of the group members must have a sanitary latrine and 100% of the group members must have a tube-well for safe drinking water). Participants also learn about government services that are available in their community (i.e. community clinics).
∎ 2. LIVELIHOODS:
∎ FH/B establishes savings groups who collect weekly savings (15 cents/week). The savings groups open and independently manage their own bank account and records, collectively investing together, and over-time they begin taking individual loans for the groups savings account.. Nearly 90% of all of the group members are women and FH/B strategically connects these women with opportunities for vocational skills training, small business development, and investment opportunities.
∎ 3. EDUCATION:
∎ FH/B has 4 core activities in educational. (1) FH/B creatively shares values lessons. Participants learn to apply values to their lives, thereby transforming relationships in their families and community. (2) FH/B also facilitates monthly awareness lessons about the law. Through the lessons, participants learn about their legal rights and because of this awareness, it is preventing spousal abuse, early child marriage of young girls, and is restoring women's dignity and respect. (3) FH/B runs pre-schools and adolescent clubs to insure the success of children at school and to prevent school dropout. (4) Lastly, FH/B runs a community-based literacy program (using FIVDB curriculum and materials). The literacy groups meet six days per week, over a nine month time period.
∎ 4. DISASTER RISK REDUCTION (DRR)
∎ FH/B prepares communities to respond to natural disasters by their own initiative. In order to make the community more resilient to disasters, FH/B places an emphasis on community capacity building. FH/B's disaster relief and response guidelines are facilitated annually with community leaders. Through these community level workshops, FH/B staff equip and train local community leaders how to conduct a needs assessment, coordinate available resources, and ensure the victims the necessary help and services.
∎ 5. INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING
∎ FH/B networks the Learning and Savings Groups and their group leaders to establish a federation of LSGs. This federation becomes a participant-led Community-based Organization (CBO). After FH/B has worked in the community about 10 years, FH/B will handover the activities to the CBO. Prior to handover, the CBO will become a legally registered organization and will be self-sustainable and responsible for carrying out the work that FH/ started.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Willingness, excitement and commitment to work with children in community level.
∎ Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal, good translation skill (Bangla to English and English to Bangla).
∎ Good in participatory facilitation skills, especially with children
∎ Proficiency in computer with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Bangla/English typing if the candidate has met other requirements.
∎ Excellent report writing skills.
∎ Maturity and capacity to handle children in a compassion and respective manner.
∎ Committed, hardworking and a self-initiator.
∎ Excellent event organizing skills.
∎ Effective inter- and -intra personal communication skills;
∎ Leadership skills and teamwork;
∎ Ability to independently travel to districts using local transportation and to travel to local communities using a bicycle or rickshaw van.
