Job Context:
∎ Community Development Centre (CODEC) is working in the coastal area of Bangladesh since 1985. Its core activities are the socio-economic development of coastal people which is operated through seven thematic areas as Agriculture, Fishery, Dairy and Horticulture; Education, Skills and Youth Development; Conflict Resolution; Climate Change and Disaster; Health and Nutrition; Social Entrepreneurship; Microfinance and Rohingya Education, Protection and Repatriation.
∎ Community Development Centre (CODEC) is going to implement upcoming project. The overall objective of the project is to strengthen food security through urban agriculture and support economic empowerment focusing on demand created by the camp itself.
∎ The specific objectives:
∎ Improved food security of 9000 vulnerable HH participants though urban agriculture and aquaculture
∎ • Enhance Skills 1000 adult youth producing handicrafts and itemized foods through center- based livelihood training.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for in- charge of the centre
∎ Organize training with the targeted stakeholders
∎ Beneficiary survey for training need assessment
∎ Supervises the activities of subordinates.
∎ Serves as a key liaison with training specialist/project coordinator of the project.
∎ Oversees daily centre operations and coordinates centre activities through assigned staff; prioritizes and delegates work activities.
∎ Prepares budget proposals and recommendations and establishes budget control system for controlling expenditures; controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations; recommends equipment and resources for the centre-based livelihood options.
∎ Prepares periodic reports, financial statements and records on centre projects, progress, status or other special reports for management or donors.
∎ Designs, develops and recommends new programs, projects and activities relating to market research for the training graduates.
∎ Directs, monitors and participates in training activities including data collection, evaluation and analysis for a training result.
∎ Evaluates centre activities for effectiveness to develop improved methods; devises evaluation methodology and implements; analyses result and recommends and/or takes appropriate action.
∎ Reviews applications or other centre documents to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to the centre.
∎ Confers with and advises staff and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and project goals and policy interpretations; refers to appropriate department or person when unable to respond..
∎ Serves as centre representative during projects by responding to and resolving emergency situations and ensures all aspects of projects/events are implemented and controlled according to plans.
∎ Keep and produce database of the centre activities through manual and online software-based data dissemination software.
∎ Provide regular written and verbal updates as necessary, to the Directors, Project focal, coordinator and the funders.
∎ Perform extra tasks when and where required in emergency situation raised during project performance period.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ • Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
∎ • Skills in livelihood training facilitation and organization
∎ • Skills on Market linkage and research
∎ • Skill in budget preparation and forecasting.
∎ • Skill in both verbal and written communication.
∎ • Must have computer Knowledge
∎ • Knowledge of the local language will be prefered
Salary: Tk. 45000 (Monthly)
